My wife and I have lived in the Miami area most of our lives. Our love of boating, diving, snorkeling and enjoying the wonders of nature drew us to Key Largo where we call home.
Why Ronnie chose Anglers Park
This property is the perfect getaway from civilization as were are next to Adams Waterway referred to as the "cut" allows us to access the ocean side yet while the ocean has it's rough days we can also enjoy the beauties and tranquility of the Bay. There is one more thing to mention... we love going and spending the day at Nest Key which is only accessible by boat on the Bay side. Nest Key is only one of three islands part of the Everglades National Park that allows the public to access the island. All other barrier island in the National park are restricted from the public.

This is a nice house that is in a great location. We truly enjoyed our stay.
not like any rental property
The place is great for a very wide scope of vacation types and activities.
Start with excellent location: right across the Highway from John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park (entrance to park is 1/2 mile from your front door, and park beaches are less than 1 mile). Yes, you can walk (we did it) - but, easier to take a car of course. Pedestrians are charged park admission anyway. Publix is 2 miles away (need a car).
The canal is deep and densely built, but quiet: not a single boat passed the house. Easy to paddle to the Gulf and enjoy the mangroves. No kayak launch, but rather convenient to launch from the dock (it is low) or from jetski launch pad. Neighbors on both sides have tiny boat ramps, and we got their permission to launch kayaks there.
We caught a few fishes from the dock, though not a single crab (we just spotted one huge Land Crab). It is OK to swim from the dock: no ladder, but same jetski launch pad can be used to get in and out from the water (you see it on the photo).
Drive to Bahia Honda State Park is about an hour, and Key West is 2 hours away. Do not forget other attractions on Key Largo, too!
House itself is very spacious and comfortable: 3 bedrooms (one small, two large), fully-equipped open kitchen+dining+living with a "futon corner" (semi-separated area with a small but high-quality futon bed, not exactly a 4th bedroom, but OK to sleep for 1 adult). Screened porch opens into large covered porch with grill, chairs, etc. Yes, you can fish while being under the roof! Living room has a sitting sofa that another adult can sleep on. Many flat-screen TV sets in the house - should I mention that we never thought about switching them on? Why would one need a TV on the Keys???
Coconuts and pineapples grow in the yard, one neighbor has a mango tree. Entire yard is covered with gravel (no grass or open earth), dock is concrete - very clear outside environment, especially of you got dogs. No hammock (just hammock frame).
Yes, there were a lot of mosquitos. Citronella candle/spray and UV-light "zapper" did not help, but DEET spray and OFF! Clip-on did.
Back to the house: good a/c, strong wi-fi, all tiles and no carpets (makes a very clean floor). The only inconvenient thing was that master bathroom is barely separated from master bathroom: a door (or at least a curtain) would be nice.
We will definitely be back!
House is very nice. View down the canal is great!
We had a wonderful family vacation. Had fun everyday going out on the water . Grocery stores are very close. Kmart is also. The house is awesome. Could not find a cookie sheet or a can opener.
Perfect - Quiet Getaway House!
Wonderful family retreat. Had full Thanksgiving Holiday for 6. Outstanding kitchen. Everything you need. Minutes from a great grocery store, and farmers market and shopping area. Dining room table complete with china, table cloths and candles. Excellent beds and baths. Cable TV in three rooms. Games and plenty of areas to sit and enjoy family time. Screen porch a delight. Canal access for paddle boards and kayaks. Very clean house. Several BBQ grills available for use. A rare one level home with no stairs. Easy to find with tons of off street parking. One stall garage if needed. Would rent again in a flash. Easy check in and out. Right in middle of everything in Key Largo. No surprises and no hassles. House better than description. Loved it, so did my wife and kids and my parents. Great holiday with the family.
Great vacation home for our large family
Very spacious home directly on canal with 5 minute access to bay waters and 15 minute access to Atlantic waters. Home was roomy enough for our party of four adults and two teenagers with room to spare. Owner is very quick to respond and easily accessible via phone to answer questions or provide suggestions. Beds were very comfy. Home was very clean. Back porch was very quiet and relaxing which resulted in us spending most of our time out there. Roku allowed kids to access Netflix to keep them entertained. Washer and dryer allowed us to pack light and have minimal laundry to do when we returned home. Publix is 5 minutes down the road so we cooked most of our meals at home and enjoyed them on the porch. Keep in mind that you must bring all necessary paper items (paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags) as well as laundry detergent since there isn't any extra at the house. We opted to rent a boat from the property manager rather than pulling our boat from home. In hindsight, we should've taken our boat since we spent so much more in fuel in the rented boat than we would have pulling our own down and using it. The motors on the rented boats are older and use so much fuel you mind as well throw dollar bills into the water the entire time it's running (I'm not exaggerating). This is meant to provide a suggestion if you're considering renting a boat and has nothing to do with the house or the rental of the house in any way. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this location to anyone wanting to spend some time in paradise!
Relaxing Keys Vacation Home
This home is very spacious, relaxing & comfortable. Easy to unload your luggage & groceries as there are no stairs to climb. We spent the July 4th holiday here & we were able to see the fireworks from the dock & patio. We had pet visitors daily on the covered deck that included a white crane (beautiful) a very tame squirrel & two woodpeckers with a nest. The covered deck in the back yard was my favorite part of the house and there was a constant breeze blowing through - it truly felt like a tropical paradise. There was a great cleaning station on the dock for cleaning your catch for the day. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a true Keys Vacation.
