Ahhhhh.......Vacation time high in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. This Shadow Mountain Lake front home offers you that perfect “Getaway” you've always dreamed of.

Whether you're looking for a quiet retreat in a pristine natural setting or that quality vacation fun

time with family and friends, this could be your “Slice of Heaven.”

Relax and unwind....... This cozy and charming house is nestled on the sparkling shores of

Shadow Mountain Lake where the headwaters of the Colorado River join with it. You can

enjoy a relaxing time on the spacious deck with breathtaking views of the pristine islands,

white pelicans and majestic Shadow Mountain as your back drop. You know you have truly

come home!!!

Enjoy a serene and magical canoe or kayak ( 3 kayaks, 2 canoes, and a paddle boat are included for your use) trip into the island area to view the resident

osprey and eagles. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to see the elusive “Swimming Moose”!!!

If fishing is your thing, we hear it is excellent in this area. Wade out into the shallow waters or take your rig to the nearby boat launch for a day on both Shadow Mountain and Grand Lake. They join together through a channel on the other end of the lake. If it's river fishing you prefer, we have that too. Hopefully you will be enjoying a fresh catch dinner! Let us know how you did!

Winter time is just as wonderful as the summer months. We offer the world renowned Winter Park

ski area only 40 minutes away as well as Granby Ranch ski area only a 20 minute drive. Out the back

door, cross country skiing on the frozen lake is a great way to warm up your day and get that daily

exercise. Or head over to YMCA's Snow Mountain Ranch for a day on the groomed cross country

ski trails.

Grand Lake is known as the “Snowmobile Capital of Colorado” with over 100 miles of trails

in the Grand Lake area alone. So gear up and head out to play in the Colorado powder.

Then, after a day of fun, you may want to stop in at the nearby “Hot Sulphur Mineral Springs”

spa and resort. They offer 20 mineral pools of warm healing water, ranging from 98 to 112

degrees. This scenic 25 minute drive is well worth your time.

The beautiful and quaint resort town of Grand Lake is only 3 miles away and offers great restaurants,

gift shops, grocery stores, gas, miniature golf, bowling, and much more,

Continuing down the road from the town of Grand Lake just 2 more miles away, you will find the

entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, another icon of incredible beauty and beyond belief

scenery and trails. ( Another great place to view moose elk and deer.!)

For starters, explore our info here, where you'll find answers to many of your questions, including availability on our up to date calendar. When you're ready to inquire or book, you only need to do it once - we will see it and respond shortly. Thanks!

Please come and enjoy “ Swimming Moose Lodge” and all that this lake front location has to offer!

We have always dreamed of owning a home on the lake and our dream came true with the purchase of this lovely and cozy house.

Now, we get to share this magical place with people like you as well as use it for our own personal getaways! Perfect..........Please come and enjoy!!!

What makes this house unique

An amazing stay!

  • 5 of 5

One could tell that this was Steve and Jolene's home and not just a rental property. Everything reflected the character of the cabin, from the light fixtures to the day to day amenities. We had an issue with the tv and a Steve worked to get it fiixed as soon as possible. We loved the deck and will definitely return. This was a top touch VRBO and we have used many!

Even Better Than Expected!

  • 5 of 5

Pictures just can't do justice to the views from the deck! We felt at home right away, used the paddle boat and kayaks each day, and had a wonderful time. The moose splashed through the water on our last morning, close enough to touch if you were standing on the shore!
