Overview

About the property

Waterview 2 bed 2 bath cottage w/ screened porch, barbecue & room for small boat

Located in a quaint area called Ozona, a "Key West" atmosphere and golfcart community, this home has the charm of old florida. It's nestled under huge moss covered live oak trees on a private road just off the gulf. Laid back and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Ozona attractions include Molly Goodheads - a quaint and popular bar & restaurant, Ozona Pig - a barbecue restaurant, a pizzeria, and an antique mall all within walking distance. Two more restaurants are just 5 minutes down the road, the The Quirkey Fork and Ozona Blue which feature a pool and is on the water. Grocery stores, drugstores, gas stations all just minutes away. Honeymoon Island state park, Clearwater Beach , and Dunedin's downtown area for shopping and dining is easy to reach by a short car ride. Weekend Trolley service is available to nearby destinations. Enjoy gorgeous sunsets over Honeymoon Island from the end of the private road at the local Speckled Trout Marina. The home was renovated in 2015 with new bathrooms with a spa feeling, new kitchen appliances and a new inside laundry area. The living & dining areas features vaulted ceilings. There is a screened porch with a large table and comfortable seating area. A propane barbecue grill is located off the screened porch and the home has a nice yard and privacy fence to the rear of the home.. The master bedroom features a queen bed, has its own bath and a walk-in closet. The split floor plan has the guest bedroom on the other side of the home with twin beds and is just off the main bathroom which can be closed off with a hall door from the main living area for more privacy. The bedrooms are ample size but have low 7' ceilings. Both bathrooms have been completely re-tiled with walk-in showers and new fixtures and plenty of towels. The kitchen has been stocked with dishes and cookware needed for a longer stay. A dishwasher is built in. The usual small appliances are stocked ... coffee pot, toaster, small mixer and blender. The charm of the cottage comes through with the decor of coastal living, bright and breezy colors with quirky waterfront decor. Parking for several cars and a small boat (20') for the sportsman weekend. Local marina will launch boat for a small daily fee.

About Jimmy Deitch

Having just relocated the the Tampa area in 2013, we were drawn to Ozona for the waterview and the "Key West" atmosphere. We love the quiet area and have been decorating coastal homes for the past 15 years.

Jimmy Deitch purchased this bungalow in 2015

Excellent Accomadations! Quaint Community!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures on line just only begin to represent the ambiance of this creatively decorated beach-themed, 2 bedroom / 2 bath home. The beds were firm and comfortable with nice bed linens. The showers (no bathtubs) are beautifully tiled and the water pressure was spa-like!

We enjoyed the quality furnishings, maple hardwood floors and stacked washer and dryer. The large screened in Lenai was a nice amenity which allowed us to enjoy the warm breezes. We felt at home by the welcome we received by Jimmy and Patty. The home is quite close to the water so we could easily walk to see the beautiful sunsets. Ozona is a quaint community with fun antique shops and restaurants. We loved our 2 week stay here!

Our week stay was wonderful at this adorable home. Two comfortable bedrooms-two baths-kitchen and laundry. Everything you'd want was provided! Super cute decor that's very Florida beachy.

Wonderful place!

  • 5 of 5

All the reviews are accurate this place is wonderful. I feel like we stepped into Coastal Living magazine! Jimmy is a great host and very accommodating. Plenty to do in the area just a short distance away. Downtown Dunedin is very quaint and a nice place to walk around. Highly, Highly recommend staying here and exploring many things to do in the area. Great tip for a place to go is at Wiki Wachee natural springs state park. It is about 45 minutes away and we took a 5 mile easy kayak ride through the most amazing clear water. Manatees were swimming along side us at many times.
