My wife and I have been visiting Kauai for a number of years and we own a timeshare a block away from this property. This year we decided we wanted to stay an extra week so we booked this property. On the positive side, the resort is located at great location on the north shore of Kauai and the resort itself is well maintained. We found the owner to be very responsive to inquiries and he promptly responded to a repair concern with the refrigerator. We were disappointed with the furnishings of this property. The unit is clean but all of the furnishings are dated and worn. The sofa in the living room is uncomfortable as is the master bedroom mattress. We didn't sample to other beds, but I suspect they were in a similar condition. The linens are worn and look like they have been in service for several years. To my shock I found that the smoke detectors had been disconnected and were sitting in a drawer in the kitchen. There were a shortage of glasses in the kitchen and one sliding screen to the lanai was broken. The bathrooms also are in need of serious updating unless your tastes include holographic toilet seats and shocking colors with the vanities. So although the rental rate was reasonable for the property, you get what you pay for. Also there seems to be a disconnect between the homeowner and the housekeeping staff of the resort. The owner told us that if we needed anything we could contact housekeeping. Not so as I discovered when we needed toilet paper
This is a real germ and a great location to explore the region. The place is really clean and big! We were a family of 4 and could not have asked for more. One thing that really impress us, was how this condo reaming relatively cold using cleaver ventilation even when the day were very hot. We have a great time and Rich & Dafna were very friendly and useful. Highly recommended.
Great trip to Kauai. This condo was perfect for our family party of four (parents and two grown daughters). We had pretty much everything we needed including snorkeling gear which was a big plus. Great location. It was only a short drive over to Hanalei where there are some great shops and food choices. I highly recommend the Taro and Juice Co. truck and if you are a coffee drinker, head straight over to the Hanalei Coffee Roasters. Very delicious. The amenities at the Cliffs were awesome, including a concierge service at the check in office to help with any excursions or sight seeing. Very nice pool setup and workout room..and the views are amazing. Definitely take advantage of the vistas to watch the sunset if you get the chance. We stopped at Costco on the way up from the airport and picked up food for the week, most of which we barbequed in the gazebo pictured. All in all, a great first trip to Hawaii for me and a great return trip for the others in my party.
P.S. the review is so titled due to our rooster friend who we named Ricky. Every morning he greeted the sun (early) at 4:30am. It was okay though since it was technically 10:30am my time (coming from the East Coast on the mainland).
