Bayfront home with private pier. 3Br, 3Ba. Two kings and one with 2 twin bunks
It was love at first site. We first visited the Forgotten Coast in 2009. We scurried to secure our place in Paradise. We found our first property, Coastal Exchange, in 2011, then Going Coastal in 2012, then The Lone Starfish in 2013. And now The Redfish Run Inn!!! We absolutely love this island and will make it our permanent home in the near future. Long walks on the beach with your dog, laying on the beach till you are golden brown, Oysters at Eddie Teaches, world class fishing, star gazing, beach side bon fires. Does it get any better? If it does, we don't know where!
Tim purchased this House in 2014
Why Tim chose Plantation
Our home sits on an absolutely gorgeous piece of shoreline on Apalachicola Bay. It is less than one mile from Sike's Cut, so when the tide rolls in blue water from the Gulf of Mexico floods down the shore. This current mixes with the fresh water pouring out of the Apalachicola River and creates an unmatched estuary that supports a vast grass flat and oyster reef system thought out the bay. Take a close look at the pictures and you can see the dark and light areas in the bay in front of the house. The dark areas are the sea grass and the light areas are the sand and oyster flats. Both work to filter the bay and keep the water the crystal clear blue that in typical for this section of bay. Just to the east of the property a large marsh system starts, with deep thick sea grass below water and marsh grass in the inter tidal zone. These marshes are the incubators of life in the bay's ecosystem. When the tide is rising game fish (Reds, Trout, and Flounder) all cruise along the reefs in front of the flat feeding on bait fish and shrimp as they are carried across the hard bottom. When the tide is high these same fish will ride into the marsh and feed over the sea grass and in the flooded marsh grass. As the tide falls they move back out to the reefs and flats in front of the marsh and feed on the bait fish as they are pulled out of the marsh by the flow of the tides. This is a very special place. This type of shoreline has mostly disappeared from our nation due to pollution and the unrestrained and uncontrolled development of our waterways. Franklin County has done and is doing a fantastic job in controlling development to make sure this exceptional place that will live on for generations.

Beautiful Bay Life!
When we arrived my children and I were met with a low tide that exposed the area beneath the dock to hermit crabs by the hundreds, blue crabs, stingrays, and innumerable fish and shrimp. We loved exploring the bay by kayak, having coffee on the back porch, and enjoying the bay breeze on the deck. The house is lovely, but comfortable—not stuffy. It is within close proximity to the beach, and a short bike ride to the pools. Tim can also provide advice on the best times and methods to catch fish. While there my kids insisted we make our reservation for the same house, the same week next year.
Great place to stay! Beautiful views, especially the sunsets. Quite, peaceful. Close enough to the beach. Would stay here again!
Great place on the bayside.
Very nice house on the bay. Has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Beach is a short walk but worth it. Owners kept in touch to make sure everything was to our expectations. We would choose this property again.
Fabulous views of the Bay, look no further!
We stayed the last week of January and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home is comfortable, nicely and warmly decorated and the views of the Bay are wonderful. Sitting out on the dock enjoying your morning coffee or self imposed happy hour doesn't get any better. We had a beautiful great horned owl sit on a tree limb in the driveway for most of the day! Great Bay home and would highly recommend.
Beautiful property on Apalachicola Bay.
Another awesome week at the Redfish Run Inn. 4th time staying here in the last year and a half, and it just keeps getting better. From Fickling, the management company, to Tim and Julie the owners, they are always willing to take time to talk with you and offer suggestions on what to do and where to eat. Tim will also give you some valuable tips on the great fishing right out back. Can't wait to return for another week of pure relaxation.
Love Redfish Run Inn!
The house is beautiful and the views are gorgeous. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks
Visiting St George Island / Apalachicola is like turning the clock back 50 years. There are no Hi-Rise Condos, shopping malls, or overcrowd beaches. There are great beach and bay houses of all sizes, uncrowded beaches, fantastic surf and bay fishing, fantastic restaurants serving awesome local oysters and seafood - and you can bring your dog to the beach.
