About the property

Very nicely decorated with hawaiian decor is this condo. Located on the third floor and it is a One Bedroom One Bath Ocean View Condo. Covered lanai and access to pool, cabana, BBQ's, coin-op washer/dryers & beautiful landscaped grounds. This condo has a beautiful ocean view and views of the tropically landscaped grounds and captures the island breezes. TV has basic cable with flat screen Smart TV. The condo comfortably sleeps two and are two sofas to lounge on in the living room. If you need extra bedding there is a queen airbed in the condo. The owners take pride in their condo and because of that this unit make a really nice vacation rental. Be aware there are no elevators, only steps can get you to this beautiful view.

Molokai is known as "The Friendly Isle." It is also considered the most Hawaiian island. Like stepping back in time 50 years, you won't find traffic lights, elevators, malls, glitz, or night life. If you're looking for rural place for relaxation, snorkeling, beautiful ocean views, quiet beaches, and old Hawaii, you'll find it on Molokai. Some say "only on Molokai", we say "always on Molokai" Come find out why.

Molokai is the smallest of the main Hawaiian chain; 38 miles long and only 10 to 15 miles wide. Its west side is arid and dry we beaches the winter great for surfing not for swimming and summer the beaches are calm for snorkeling and swimming The eastern side is more lush and tropical with miles of barrier reef in front.

Molokai's north side is famous for having the world's highest sea cliffs which rise some 3000 feet out of the ocean. The 2774-acre Kamakou Forest Preserve on Molokai overlooks these sea cliffs and is home to endangered birds and over 200 Hawaiian plants that grow only in this preserve.

Molokai South side is where you will find our main town of Kaunakakai and has a handful tourist and art shops, two full service grocery markets, a health food store, a bakery, and even a wine and cheese shop. You'll also find some shopping in the villages of Kualapu'u and Maunaloa.

Feb 2018 Location great. Disappointing condo.

  • 2 of 5

The location is great. We have stayed at the WaveCrest before but not in this condo.

Condo was not clean. From the tiny bugs crawling around on the counter and dishwasher regardless of how many times I wiped them down, to the food encrusted blender that was in the cabinet and the food splattered range hood. The silverware holder in the drawer was not clean and the pans had more of the non stick coating scraped off than was still on.

The towels smelled musty so I washed them then they were fine. The whole place did not smell fresh.

I don't know if the owners are aware.

Very disappointing.

Owner's Response: We are in the tropics so if we have a lot of rains, which is the case this winter, things can smell musty and there are definitely more bugs. Ants are just part of our way of life over here. It does sound like we need to replace the pots and pans so we will do that. We apologize for the missed clean and do hope when guest puts things back in the cabinets, they too take the time to clean them well.
