About Peg Ayers

We're Bill & Peg Ayers. We discovered Damascus, "The Friendliest Town on the Trail" in early 2008 and we love it more each year! This house was our own until a few years ago when we moved to "the country" just a mile and a half away. We live there with our two spoiled pups, Dolly, a Miniature Schnauzer, and Furby, a Yorkie Mix Bill found wandering down a highway in the rain! And now we have Miss Kitty Mittens, an adorable gray tabby who needed a home! We hated to leave our comfy home with all the renovations we've put into it: a stainless steel kitchen, wood floors, two complete bedroom suites with walk-in closets and beautiful full baths and much more, and we're excited to share it with you!

Peg Ayers purchased this house in 2008

Why Peg Ayers chose Blue Ridge Highlands

We've lived in many places throughout our life together (more than 30 years of marriage) including Wyoming, Ohio, and West Virginia, and we agree that Southwest Virginia is the perfect place to live! All four seasons are amazing, and there's always something to do!

Spacious clean house within walking distance of all the bike shops and stores in Damascus

  • 5 of 5

Nice house with plenty of room for big group. Especially liked the open kitchen and dining area and the large den to hang out in and play games with the whole family. Three full bathrooms are a plus! Can walk to all the bike shops to ride the Creeper Trail or to eat or shop in town. Only thing we would have loved, that house did not have, was a fire pit in the back yard. But would definitely stay in this house again!

Great Location and Plenty of Room

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Maple Tree Manor was enjoyable. The use of the garage for our motorcycles was a huge perk while renting this home for the week. The location was great for traveling into NC/TN. Shopping was nearby. This is a huge home that would accommodate more than the 4 of us that stayed there. The kitchen was equipped with all that is needed for eating at home and the use of the grill was nice. The beds were very comfortable and another perk was a full bath for 2 of the 3 bedrooms (basically 2 master suites). Thanks Peg for sharing your home with us.

Highly recommend Maple Tree Manor!

  • 5 of 5

Maple Tree Manor....5 stars isn't enough!

To start...the house is well situated in the center of the town of Damascus, putting everything in easy walking distance. Conveniently located near the Creeper Trail.. as well as shopping the artsy boutiques or heading out to the Mill for an entertaining night out. Peg's home was extremely clean and comfy, with ample space and beds to comfortably accommodate large groups. In particular, the large gourmet kitchen is a great feature, allowing us to cook up all kinds of scrumptious meals. Everything we needed was provided. Extra touches made our visit special, such as the mini shampoos, the travel bags, and fresh flowers. She was readily available for any questions we had. She was so kind and it is obvious from our stay and the home's guest book that she truly cares about her guests. You will not be disappointed if you choose Peg's home for your visit to Damascus

Highly recommended!!!!

Nice town, nice place.

  • 5 of 5

Nice home right in downtown. Perhaps it could use some more reading lamps in the bedrooms. All else was great.

A+ rental!!!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a long weekend at Maple Tree Manor. My husband and I, our daughter and son and their significant others were all able to sleep comfortably in our own beds and had lots of room to spread out in the house. The owner was very responsive throughout the whole process. The house was spotless, and Peg had beautiful fresh flowers on the table and a bag of treats for our dog (along with poop bags if we had forgotten ours!!!). Peg had brochures and maps available for us, and we used one of the bike companies she recommended (Bike Station). We would recommend this company. The house is perfectly situated right off Main Street. We walked to our bike rental place and walked to dinner. Huge, beautiful yard and very quiet. Great grocery store 3 minutes' drive away. Grayson Highlands State Park is one hour away. (highly recommended!). We will definitely be back to bike the Creeper Trail, and will stay in this house again!

A perfect Thanksgiving

  • 5 of 5

Thank you to the Ayer's for sharing their lovely home with my family on Thanksgiving. The house was easy to find and access. Peg had fresh fall flowers on the table and back packs with treats inside for my grandson's. The house was spacious, clean, and stocked with everything you could want. Although only 5 people stayed at the house, there was plenty of room for more. I cooked for 18 family members from 4 states, who came for Thanksgiving day. After stuffing ourselves with food, we walked through Damascus, the creeper trail, and river banks. Thank you for having a washer/dryer. They came in handy after the grandson's accidentally stepped in the water while throwing rocks in the creek. It was a perfect Thanksgiving!
