Snowy Goodness

  • 5 of 5

My husband, son and two nephews came to northern Michigan to snow tube, ski and get away. We selected this property in Honor, MI for its proximity to Crystal Mountain Ski area, Traverse City, and because the house looked amazing. The pictures and description of the property were on point...the house was clean, tidy, and comfortable for 5. The boys really enjoyed the ping-pong table and of course the internet. If I could have taken the bed in the master bedroom home with me, I might still be sleeping as soundly as I did in Honor.

The hosts were amazing. Great with communication. I had a problem one day getting the key our of the security box.....I am going to blame it on my husband....both hosts were available to help me via telephone, and tragedy was averted.

I hope we will be able to return again next winter for another magical stay.

Nice House

  • 4 of 5

The house is old but nicely renovated. Overall, we had a great time.

Pros: Well located, clean, kitchen and eating area are large and nice, the house has all amenities, the ping pong table is a blast. In general, it was very nice

Cons: Pets are allowed and the fenced yard was full of droppings because previous guests with pets did not pick up after them. This was a major problem for us because we had 4 kids and we were hoping to have them play outside... but on the first 2 hours of stay, 2 kids and one adult steeped on dog poop... so that was the end of the yard enjoyment. We felt a bit cheated, that is why the 4 stars rather than 5.

Other minor cons: The water pressure is a bit low for the shower but it was not horrible, and the TV only has 2 channels. We were hoping to watch the closing ceremony for the Rio Olympics but unfortunately there was no channel covering it.

Except for the yard, we would recommend it to a friend and would return as well.

Thank you for letting us stay at your place,

BEAUTIFULLY restored older home

  • 5 of 5

This home only looks “old” on the outside. Inside, it’s fully restored, refurnished and outfit to make you wish you could move in, let alone stay a week. The owner has stocked the kitchen so thoughtfully you’ll want to make a soufflé, or bake cookies. The enormous living room TV has Netflix. The house has WiFi (password provided with rental fee) and the game room has darts and a ping pong table. You’ll find chilled clean beer glasses in the freezer, ready for your evening brew, and a full size washer and dryer for cleaning up after the dunes. I tried all four beds and they’re all as comfy as could be. New sheets and towels. Seriously, you couldn’t do better than this place for a vacation rental. This town is as quiet as a church, too. I slept like a log every night. Owner is super-responsive by text or phone if there are any problems… but there won’t be. 

Great vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

We were able to stay in our "Honor Home" for 9-nights. We had a wonderful time. It is centrally located for many different activities, Traverse City, Beulah, Frankfort. The home is decorated beautifully and was very clean; everything that was promised was provided. Ceiling fans in the bedrooms kept them cool for sleeping. Our granddaughter loved the stairs! The owners were very responsive to our questions and we received our deposit back in 1-day. We would definitely recommend this home to anyone who is considering this area.
