Great cottage and community.
The Cottage is fully equipped and very cozy. The pool was never busy and was nice. The beach isn’t far away.
This property is a little distance to a lot of things groceries, Walmart and things to do. Not a downfall just good to know to get what you need before you make it there. The Sassy Bass is nearby if you need items and they have a resturant.
Amazing rental that is very clean and has everything you need for a comfortable vacation!!
We absolutely loved our stay! The rental unit is very clean and the kitchen is stocked with all the essentials for cooking and the bathrooms have plenty of towels. The mattresses for all the beds were really comfortable too. (We have stayed at other vacation rentals where the beds have been terribly uncomfortable). It is a short drive to the beach and the pool was steps from our rental unit. The pool was never crowded and we were there over a holiday week. There is a small grocery store near by for the essentials if your forgot something. I do recommend stopping to get all your groceries at once because it is a bit of a drive to the Wal-Mart. Also if you can, bring your own alcohol because the prices in the area are extremely elevated. Not a complaint just a friendly tip. The absolute best part about this rental property is the property manager!! Her name is Kim and she goes out of her way to make sure your stay is amazing. She communicates with you and anytime you have a question she responds quickly. She gave excellent suggestions about where to eat and what to do. We have stayed at other vacation rentals and enjoyed ourselves, but this one was by far our favorite.
We love this house at The Rookery! We have stayed here multiple years and will certainly come back. It’s clean, perfect size, and a great location to pool and beach.
Well appointed rental
The house is great: beds are comfortable, baths adequate, kitchen well appointed. Having washer/dryer is essential for a beach trip! The insects were a problem, though. No see ‘ums or midges-tiny, painful biters. They attacked us the evening we arrived while unloading and various times during our stay. We could not enjoy the pool/hot tub area because of them. Insect repellant didn’t work. There is a retention pond in the neighborhood. Maybe they were breeding there. There were a few at the Fort Morgan historical site but none in the Gulf Shores area.
Great quiet location
Like quiet nature of property, beach is short walk and kids love the pool
Wonderful place to stay!
Would definitely recommend to all!! Kim was awesome to work with!!
The Rookery was designed to be a natural and quiet resort, and it is located adjacent to the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. Fort Morgan Marina and Tacky Jack's restaurant are located nearby. There
is a grocery store, beverage store, and restaurant within 1/2 mile.
Three miles to the east, food, and music can be found at the Pines grocery & restaurant. The Beach Club is located in the same vicinity, drop by the Village Market & Grill for lunch, have dessert at 'The Village Creamery' or dine at the Beach Club restaurant overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.
Enjoy our beautiful white sandy beaches. Public beach access is located across the street from the Rookery at the end of Cortez Street on Beach Blvd. Cortez St is 0.10 mile(s) from the Rookery. There is also gravel parking lot and a boardwalk at Morgantown off Pizzaro Ave.
Our unit is in phase II and is located approximately 150 feet from the big pool, tennis court and picnic area. The distance from our front door to the beach is 0.4 mile(s)/10 minute walk, or less than a 2 minute drive. If you are not into the crowded beaches, and high rise condominiums then you'll love the peaceful tranquility of the area. If you like fishing, Alabama's Gulf Coast offers a wonderful variety of in-shore and off-shore saltwater fishing. Catch blue marlin, yellow fin tuna, amberjack, cobia, red snapper, and more! Dixie Bar is a famous fishing spot down at Fort Morgan, and the marina is less than a 10 minute drive. Inshore/Nearshore fishing trips available at Gulf Shores Marina. A golfers paradise. There are several premier golf courses in the area with two located within minutes. Kiva Dunes golf course is 3 miles to the east. Peninsula golf course is a 10 minute drive.
Enjoy family fun at Waterville U.S.A., Track Recreation Center, Pirates Island Adventure golf, ride the Ferris Wheel at the Wharf. Shore birds like herons, pelicans, gulls, egrets, raptors, swallows, and more are found along the waterfront stops of the trail.
