Beautiful home, peaceful location and fully equipped!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at this home! I agree with one of the previous renters that said that the photos do not capture the beauty of the home! It is absolutely lovely inside with so many special features and in such a peaceful setting. The owner has provided everything you need including instructions for everything. We will certainly book this special getaway again! It was so hard to leave!

Beautiful property!

  • 5 of 5

The house is more beautiful, and unique than the pictures. It was very comfortable and spacious for a family get-together of 8 adults and 4 children. The views of the lake are peaceful and calming.

If it snows, as it did when we were there, make sure you have enough salt for the driveway and/or 4 wheel drive as we were not able to make it up the slight incline to the road with our sedan until we put down the salt. The owners kindly left some salt, we purchase more just in case.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed the property. We do have a company keep the drive plowed and salted. That is not always possible when guests are there so we try to keep salt in the garage for people to use. Next year we will focus on making sure there is an ample supply. We also have a snow blower that guests can use if needed.

Everything was great, except for the mice

  • 3 of 5

Without the mice, this would have been a 5 star review, but there are mice in the kitchen, which was really disappointing. Good thing we were only there for 2 nights.

Owner's Response: We strive hard to keep the house in top notch condition for all guests. We have pest control come out every fall and they monitor throughout the fall. The cleaning service also inspects for signs of intruders and notifies us. Our goal is to keep the house pest free and in the fall this takes a lot of effort. In northern Michigan, in a log cabin lake house in the woods a mouse or two may make their way in during the fall but will not be allowed to stay very long. Again, we work hard to make this a rare occurrence.
