A quiet oasis in the heart of North Park & all the fun things it has to offer. A block away are restaurants and breweries such as Smoking Goat, Influx, Underbelly, Tacos Perla, Amorcito Corazon, Modern Times, Alexander's on 30th & Cardamom Cafe. Our house is less than 2 miles from the Zoo, all of the museums in Balboa Park, the Gaslamp District, Hillcrest & the Convention Center. We are less than 10 miles from Old Town, Seaworld, Coronado Beach, Ocean Beach & Mission Valley.

About Katie Scott

We are Ryan & Katie, and we have two sweet little boys that have filled this home with sweet memories and adorable giggles. We love living in San Diego, and have grown accustomed to walking to all the fun restaurants, hanging out at museums on the weekend, & swimming in the Morley Field pool during the summer. We are wedding photographers, and also have jobs in sales. Our property is very well reviewed on other travel sites. VRBO guests aren't as consistent with leaving reviews. ;)

Why Katie Scott chose San Diego

We bought this property because we fell in love with North Park after renting a house a few blocks away for a year. We love how close it is to all of the action around North Park and downtown, but that it feels quiet and calm. We love that we can easily access the best beaches in the country, eat at amazing restaurants that are blocks away, & be "downtown" while still feeling like we have a homey space.

What makes this bungalow unique

Most visitors actually don't rent cars! Many of them use Uber or Lyft or the bus system to travel around, as it is very convenient and close to everything! We also have a porch swing, and our favorite pastime is sitting on the swing and watching our oldest son play in the yard. We also really love the Craftsman details mixed with the midcentury furniture we've added to the space. And newly remodeled bathrooms are a major plus. =)

Property was very well stocked, clean and in a great location. Better than we had hoped and we lived our time in San Diego. Katie always made herself available for any queries we had and I'd definitely recommend.

Excellent location!!

I was extremely impressed by how the owners made their 1928 home feel so updated, clean, and yet super comfortable. The home is centrally located to shops, the San Diego Zoo, LegoLand, and the beach! We had a wonderful visit, and hope others will too!

Perfect location....central to everything you can ever imagine

First off, let me begin by saying that this was our first time booking through VRBO so i really did not know what to expect. However, the owner Katie was super helpful and extremely responsive to all my questions. As it got closer to our rental date, she sent a very helpful welcome packet, which included several restaurants and recommendations on what to do while we were there. We booked her beautiful house for the 4th of July weekend as we had family from Texas flying down to meet us for our annual family gathering. We had a total of 4 adults and 4 children and we never felt that there was a lack of space ever!

The location of Katie's house is almost close to perfect! You can literally walk down the street and there are several bars, restaurants, convenience stores, etc. There are all types that you can choose from.....From your basic breakfast waffles to even upscale dining. There are also some super nice breweries within a 10 minute walk (I highly recommend Thorn Street Brewery!) Need to go to the San Diego Zoo or Sea World? No problem....10 min drive and you are there! Need to get to the airport or Gaslamp district? 10 min car ride away!

The house itself is a charmer! The kids loved the porch swing, as well as being able to play in the front yard that was fenced in. Beautiful kitchen and very well maintained throughout. There is even a BBQ grill if you choose to use it, we did not, but will definitely utilize it next time.

There are 2 apartment units in the rear of this house, however, privacy was never an issue. I highly recommend renting this house and will definitely be back in the very near future!

Just like it was pictured-- very cute, clean and perfect for our getaway

Katie was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. The property is a beautiful and charming Craftsman-style home with plenty of space for our group of 8-- lots of windows, natural light and the ceiling fans were perfect to cool everyone down. All of the appliances in the kitchen were new and well taken care of and provided ample room to cook and congregate.

We fit two cars in the driveway. Since it's right next to all the eateries on 30th and Upas, parking on the street was a bit crowded. However, that was nice because so many great restaurants were within walking distance. We were within just 10-15 minutes of Downtown and other attractions.

Random comment, but the the pull-out in the living was very comfortable so sleeping arrangements were easy.

There were tenants in the back, but they were very quiet and it never felt like they were too close. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and we would definitely return to this property and area of San Diego. Thanks, Katie!

Great location . Beautiful house.

We stayed in this beautiful home with our daughter's in-laws for six nights over Christmas. We used the two main bedrooms . Beds are very comfortable . Other furnishings beautiful . Gorgeous kitchen had all we needed to cook a meal for our family . We used the outdoor grill as well . It was too cold during our stay to use the side outdoor area but it is very nice . We often sat on the large front porch while waiting for our kids who live 2 miles away. Great coffee shops, restaurants , brewery etc less than a block away but property street very quiet. Very close to Balboa Park and adjacent attractions. ,Access to property extremely easy and Katie gave great directions & description. She was easy to reach for questions and left easy check out instructions . We will definitely rent this home again when we need this much space .

Lovely Home in North Park SD

This home is centrally located, a short uber drive to Gaslamp, Hillcrest, and even the Marina. This house is also walking distance to a few bars (Modern Times) and places to eat (Underbelly).

The house was clean (aside from a few spiders) and comfortably accommodated our group (6 adults).

I had a lovely stay and could not be happier with the service Katie provided us with. She rushed over an iron and ironing board once she was informed it was not available in the home. She left a detail binder with recommendations for dinning and attractions and even coins to start a load of laundry.

The only disadvantage i will point out is that there is no backyard (it's apartments) so privacy can sometimes be compromised if the windows from the back bedrooms are left open. The house does come with a huge front yard and its high fenced (seems to be the style of homes on this street) so we were satisfied with that.

Highly recommend this home, would stay here again.

There is a reason North Park was named by Forbes as one of the Hottest Hipster neighborhoods in the country: incredible restaurants, it's bike/pedestrian friendly, & is the perfect mix of a city with a down home community vibe. There are coffee shops, thrift stores, high end restaurants, food trucks, & unique boutiques everywhere.

Built in 1928 and renovated from floor to ceiling, the house is a comfy resting spot to call home as you explore sunny San Diego. The house is located 3 miles from downtown, 10-15 minutes from Seaworld, 5 minutes from the San Diego Zoo (and 3 blocks from Balboa Park/Morley Field), 1 mile from downtown South Park & 10-12 minutes from Coronado Beach. Other places of interest are the Convention Center, Petco Park, Seaport Village, Mission Bay, Little Italy, the Hotel Del Coronado, Horton Plaza, the Maritime Museum, Qualcomm Stadium & all the fun neighborhoods of Mission Hills, Hillcrest and Little Italy. This house is ideal for couples, a family or a few girlfriends on a fun little getaway.

The house has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The house comfortably sleeps 8, as one couch in the living room boasts a gel/tempurpedic mattress that is to die for (and there are no bars to dig into your back while you sleep, the thing is amazing!). We specifically bought the sleeper sofa for family to visit, and they have all confirmed it is just like sleeping on a real mattress. All bedrooms have queen beds. There is a brand new, gourmet kitchen with ample counter space, a large island & a dining table that seats 6.

The house is walking distance from some of San Diego's best restaurants & cafe's (Alexander's, The Smoking Goat, Cardamom Cafe, Underbelly & Urban Solace), as well as really fun shopping (Pigment, Aloha Sunday etc). The house has a private patio, yard and BBQ, a porch swing & is three blocks from Bird Park, home to the summer's popular concert series featuring local up and coming bands. The house also has a driveway that can hold up to 2 vehicles off the street.
