We rented for a wedding. Could not have been happier. The grounds were so pretty and big. The inside of house was massive. Everything you could possibly need.

Great place for a getaway

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time staying at the Delaeter House. We had a fabulous time. The house was perfect for our three teens, three preteens, and the 4 adults. We spent many hours out on the lake, tubing, kneeboarding, fishing and just boating. And with the Dairy Queen right behind the house, and the swimming beach right next door, everyone was happy and occupied. We spent one day in Duluth, and visited several of the "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives" featured restaurants, including the Delta Diner. Fun addition to a lake trip. We are already booking our trip for next year. :)

Wonderful place for families

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year at DeLaeter house and it was as wonderful this year as last. The large lawn is perfect for games and the lake provides hours of fun for the kids. They love the paddle boat and swimming over to the large public dock. The lake is never to busy and perfect for teaching the young kids how to ski. The house has enough room for our family of 13 to spread out but gather in the large kitchen area for meals. And of course the Dairy Queen next door, it doesn't get any better than walking there after a busy day on the lake. We've already booked our favorite week for next year.

Great place & great location!

  • 4 of 5

We came to Lake Nebagamon for a family reunion & vacation. My family is large & active. This house is large, great for entertaining & very well located. Seven family members stayed here & there was plenty of room for us.

We hosted a cookout mid week as part of the reunion. The kids loved playing on the vast lawn. The porch, kitchen & living rooms allowed plenty of space for conversation & eating. Most importantly, the grill was large & worked! We even had a boat the a cousin brought along & took people out on the lake. The Dairy Queen made an easy dessert bar for all of us!

The first few days it was extremely hot (95F) & no air conditioning. Plenty of fans & thankfully the temps dropped in the evening for comfortable sleep.

My only negative is the location of one of the full baths in the basement. It's inconvenient & therefore never used, so making the main floor bath very busy during shower time for 7 people.

On the whole, I recommend this home for a great vacation.

Had a great time with our family of 9. Children thought the house would be perfect for secret passages. Everything was spotless when we arrived. Loved to sit on the deck and watch the lake and boats. We fished, tubed, water skied, and three of the adults ran daily. Close enough to have spent a day in Duluth and an afternoon at Pattison State Park; hiking and enjoying the falls and wildlife. The neighborhood was quiet in the evenings and cool enough to enjoy a fire and s'mores. Felt safe and at home. Returned home and church friends knew all about the lake and the history of the house. Small world.
