About Weston Noyes

Amy and Weston Noyes have ten years of experience renovating homes and managing property. Our goal is to provide our visitors with a comfortable, elegant, and clean space for their work-stay or vacation. We offer every guest clear communication, clean accommodations, an eye for detail, and responsiveness to your needs and inquiries.

Weston Noyes purchased this apartment in 2004

Why Weston Noyes chose Salt Lake City

We purchased this home as our primary residence in 2004 and spent many years of personal effort renovating it with our own hands. From living here, we know what a treasure the Marmalade neighborhood is and we are very happy to be able to offer our guests this relaxing and beautiful space, in our charming neighborhood, with incredible access to all of downtown Salt Lake City.

What makes this apartment unique

We have renovated all three units at 319 Almond Street ourselves. No surface, inside or out, was left unimproved, and hopefully the results of this deep remodel speak for themselves. You'll be able to enjoy your evenings relaxing on the deck or cooking dinner with your family or friends in open plan kitchen/dining/living room. Inside you'll find plenty of room for up to four people to sleep comfortably, while accommodating up to six people at the dinner table.

With such close proximity to downtown Salt Lake City, no location is better suited for conveniently exploring all that this great city has to offer. From this safe and quiet street in the charming Marmalade Hill neighborhood, all the greatest neighborhoods, restaurants, activities and attractions along the Wasatch Front are within your reach.

Our home is located near the heart of Salt Lake City, within easy walking distance of all downtown locations with fast and easy Interstate access to many major destinations along the Wasatch Front. Almond street is a quiet, charming street in the Marmalade Hill neighborhood. Known for its historic homes and hillside sunset views of the Great Salt Lake, the Marmalade neighborhood derives its name from the orchards which eventually gave way to meandering streets still lined with fruit trees, perfect for an evening stroll.

Our house is located just two city blocks north of Temple Square, three blocks west of the Utah State Capitol building, and six blocks from the Salt Lake Convention center. Also, within walking distance are the LDS Conference Center, the LDS geneology library, the City Creek Center Mall, the Utah Jazz Arena, the Ensign Point city overlook and the Memory Grove/City Creek Canyon walking/hiking/biking trails. Dozens of exceptional restaurants, cafe's, bars, entertainment venues, shops, public transportation, parks, all lay just outside your doorstep.

OK location, not much space

  • 3 of 5

I enjoyed our stay overall; however, this is one of the smallest city apartments we have ever rented. Although it is advertised as walkable to attractions, the city has very steep hills. In 98 degree weather, we found it much more comfortable to uber downtown for $6 each way. I have rented with vrbo and homeaway for a couple of decades and I found these owners the most difficult to book with. They were distrusting of renting even though my profile in good standing is easy for all to view. I also missed the description that indicated window air conditioners vs central air. Not that comfortable given the summer warmth.

Owner's Response: We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay overall, but find ourselves a little surprised and disappointed to hear your description of hosting you as "distrusting". It seemed to us that all our interactions on the topic of hosting your visit were quite amicable. After a friendly phone conversation you seemed happy to rent our place, especially as we worked to listen to you and made special accommodations to service your unusual needs. While we cannot do anything about the outside air temperature or the two-block walk to down town from our quiet, historic neighborhood, we will continue to offer all our guests friendly, honest communication, a clean, comfortable space in a quiet, close-to-downtown location with off-street parking which most of our guests find to be plenty enough space to meet their needs.

Darling apt. Close to things we needed.

  • 5 of 5

It was clean, convenient, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We had a problem with the hot water heater and it was fixed immediately. I will stay again. It even has a dishwasher and a darling deck.

Great place in SLC

  • 4 of 5

It;'s really a very nice place. All except the heavy footed person who lives upstairs. If this does not bother you, you'll have a great stay. Could use a set of kitchen knives though. Unless I somehow missed them.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay at our place. For potential future renters who may have concerns about noise, there is not a permanent resident living upstairs, just another short-term rental. Because you let us know about the situation at the time, we were able to address the noise issue directly with that guest. It was simply unfortunate that your visit was coincident with another renter who arrived late and ignored our information about quiet hours and being considerate of other guests. Even though we have a triple layer of sound-dampening insulation between each apartment unit, we still remind all of our guests to be considerate around the possible transfer of noise between apartments. We also ask our guests to let us know if you are not receiving such consideration, as you did. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to address the concern. Also, there is a 5-piece set of Zinser kitchen knives in the utensil drawer.

Clean, Cute, Comfortable

  • 5 of 5

My 2 adult sisters along with my mom & I stayed in this apartment for a weekend and really enjoyed our stay. Entrance to the apartment was simple and locking it up each day was easy. The apartment is considered the basement of a 2 story apartment, so we could hear our upstairs neighbors occasionally, when they walked around. The parking was convenient and easy to find in the alleyway to the side of the apartment. There was easy access to downtown SLC as well as the University of Utah, the Capitol, and freeways to head any direction. We often walked to our destinations as the apartment was only a couple of blocks from some of the sites we wanted to experience.

The bed was very comfortable while the roll out bed in the couch wasn't too bad either, surprisingly. We found plenty of pillows and blankets in the closet should we have needed them.

The bathroom was so clean and large and the shower head was awesome! We were all impressed with the thickness & size of the towels too. There were plenty of wash cloths, hand soap, and shampoo as well as a blow dryer. It really had everything we needed.

There's a small washer and dryer in the bathroom but we didn't use it while we were there. We didn't end up using the kitchen either, but there were plenty of pots and pans, dishes, etc should we have wanted to.

The apartment has 2 window AC units which were rather loud. But we found 2 fans and opted to use those each night over the AC units. We slept very soundly & comfortably with those fans compared to the first night when we used the AC units.

The only concern we had was the bathroom sink. It did not drain quickly at all, but we made do.
