About John Magill
We have leased this house for more than 33 years and our tenants have throughly enjoyed the house and the docks. I've been retired for 13 years and enjoy people having a good time at our place.
John Magill purchased this House in 1942
Why John Magill chose Lake George
This property is secluded in the beautiful Green Harbor Bay just 2 miles north from Lake George Village on Route 9N. This is a choice property because of its location and the antiques and oriental rugs in the Great Room. This large home is very comfortable, including the large screened porch and a very spacious yard.
What makes this House unique
Firewood available for the fireplace, beautiful porch and decks overlooking the Lake. This home has the views of the lake on all three sides and 50 feet from the lake. Location, location, and location.

Dream Location on the Lake
Excellent property and location! House condition and furnishings meet all our expectations. Total privacy in the house and on the lake. We had 6 adults and 5 kids and we had plenty of room for all!
Great Location. House needs some upgrades
We rented this house because wanted a lake front property with a dock to bring my boat to. The positives were the location is spectacular. It is only 2.2 miles from the village but it is in a quiet neighborhood full of gorgeous properties. The house was built in 1928. It is been in the owner’s family since the 1940s. It is a classic Adirondack camp type house use for fishing and hunting . The owner, jon, keeps the house in excellent condition. The outside is well landscaped and clean. There is a nice Weber Grill which is meticulously clean. The boathouse is probably the best feature. It has a nice roof deck with lounge chairs to soak up the sun and a table for dining. The morning of you with the sun coming up over the lake is to be treasured . Easy access to the lake is the best feature of the house. It was a special treat for me not to have to cover my boat for the week in the covered boat house. I have a 24‘ x 8 ‘6” Searay Sundeck Which just fit inside The boathouse. I would not bring anything bigger. I used the boat ramp at million dollar beach to offload and unload the boat at the end of the trip . It’s a really nice boat ramp or be prepared to have a very vigorous inspection. Make sure your boat including the outdrive is very clean.. To me, the second best feature was the covered screened porch facing out onto the lake which is probably the coolest place in the house. The great room has a Yamaha player piano with an app that can play many popular songs. The great room however has somewhat poor ventilation is quite hot when it is humid . A lot of the windows are old and stick and you don’t open easily. There are five relatively small bedrooms but plenty of room for up to 10 people when you include the multiple couches. There is a beautiful stone fireplace that we did not use since it was quite warm . The main room seems quite historic and has a lot of interesting mounted deer and other knickknacks .
The negatives are a very narrow steep driveway with a large bush on the neighbors property which makes it difficult to get in and out of the car near the door unless you park in the small parking area for two cars above . There was no washer dryer or dishwasher which I did not notice Until we were getting ready to go there. The kitchen is quite small and tight. There are individual air conditioning in the window units in the rooms but they weren’t able to keep up with the heat and humidity in a few of the rooms.
Very nice property
Enjoyed the deck and bay in front of the house
Lakeside cottage perfectly suited for our family
This house on Green Harbour was a perfect fit for our annual family vacation. We have been staying and boating on Lake George for many years. The size, layout, amenities and location of this property is by far the best we have experienced. With 5 bedrooms and 3 baths, the entire family - 2 grandparents 4 adult children and 2 grandchildren had plenty of space and privacy. The screened porch was absolutely wonderful. Large and surprisingly deep, it quickly became the center of many activities from games to naps. The lakeside yard became our kickball field, and general yard game area. Big and flat, all of us enjoyed every square foot of it. The boathouse and rooftop deck worked out so well. Morning yoga, reading, relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view of the lake made is another focal point for fun. The sheltered location in the bay made it an ideal spot for our boat. No waves, no wind. Easy in, easy out. Swimming, fishing (fresh bass for dinner one night), kayaking, canoeing - we did it all and loved every minute. The owner (John) was friendly, accommodating and responsive to our questions - it was a joy to work with him.I would recommend this house to any family who wants lakeside fun, privacy and a peaceful Lake George vacation.
Thank you for your kind words and may God bless you
A little piece of heaven.
Love the home, very comfy and cozy, the screened in porch, location on the lake and covered boat dock are great.
The property was exactly as advertised. We stayed here last year.
We had 9 people staying here and there was plenty of space for all of us, even on a rainy day. The bathhouse roof is perfect for entertaining and just relaxing. We will definitely stay here next year.
