About Steve

Owner grew up near the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, moved to Westminster, MD after getting married, and now lives in southern PA with his wonderful family (wife and 2 children). Owner attended college in Philadelphia, PA and my wife attended the University of MD. We also own a cabin in Berkeley Springs, WV (vrbo # 183937) and have been renting that out for quite some time. So PLEASE check us out there as well as our GREAT reviews, as we get our new vacation rental endeavor up and running here at Treasure Lake!

Steve purchased this cottage in 2014

Why Steve chose Treasure Lake

Treasure Lake is a private community in a serene, slower paced setting with paved roads and with beautiful lake front properties and views. Traveling to the Treasure Lake/Dubois area from any direction is VERY scenic and is typically a breeze, away from the fast paced hustle and bustle of the city and all the other stressful "work" environments. Why deal with the heavy beach traffic where everyone else goes, when you can enjoy the same amenities, just in a much more peaceful setting?

What makes this cottage unique

We have a "one of a kind" view from our property with great, level, walk out lake access. Views of Treasure Lake from the living room, dining room, front porch area, lower level rec room, as well as the lower covered patio area will seem to sweep all your worries away. Our property is unique in that many properties that are lakefront in the community, are either on a steep slope, or have limited views, where ours is the opposite. We have hopefully thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable, from the pool/ping-pong table, upgraded bathrooms, flat screen TVs, books, videos and DVDs, even down to the fully stocked kitchen where you will be more than happy to prepare any of your favorite meals.

Great house, great location.

  • 5 of 5

The house was perfect for our stay. We had four adults and three children staying there. There was more than enough room. We could have had another family stay with us and still had space. The layout was perfect with a large living area connected to the kitchen and a huge deck. We appreciated that the deck was baby safe. Views were lovely.

We stayed at the end of September, so the peak season had wound down. The enjoyed the expansive yard, had fires in the fire pit, played at the playground and loved being near the water. The beaches were all closed by then, but we took a day trip to Parker Dam State Park for some hiking.

Overall, it was a great trip and the perfect house for us.

Perfect End of Summer Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Very relaxing and enjoyable. We enjoyed having the canoe to fish on the lake. Seeing the deer every day in the yard and the community was awesome. The house had everything we needed and more.

Relaxing and beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

As a get away for a group of friends who had not been together for 40 years it was perfect. Covered decks to sit and relax and catch up on years. Spacious living room area to sit around laugh and look at pictures of our past. The view early morning for the early risers to watch the fog lift off the lake. Peaceful nights as we watched the night and the deer settle around us. It was what we all needed and were so lucky to have found it at this cottage.

"What a wonderful vacation Steve...the home was large enough to accommodate the eight of us and morning view on the deck was beautiful. Our family enjoyed outside activities on the spacious yard. We never left the property until it was time to go home! Thank-you! Connie"
