Centrally located for exploring Boerne just 10-miles west on TX46 or for a day trip to exciting Fredericksburg, the #2 wine destination in America!
We are 27-miles from the San Antonio Airport. We are easily found by either travelling from San Antonio north on US Hwy 281 and exiting at TX 46. Turn left and go 10-miles to FM 3351. Turn right and we are only 1/3 of a mile on your right. Coming west on IH10, one would take exit 550 and turn right on FM 3351 aka Ralph Fair Road. From Austin come south on I35 then near New Braunfels, take the TX 46 exit and loop to TX 46 where you will turn right. Continue west passing US Hwy 281 where Bergheim and FM 3351 is 10-miles on. Turn right on FM 3351, we are .5 mile on the right. Entry is well lit for arrival after dark.

About Laurent Perron
Candee and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary April 19th. It has been a glorious ride. We just always have fun together. I would want to spend another forty years with no one other than my lovely Candee. Our favorite place in the world is our Cabin on the Red River just outside of Red River, NM where we also rent a separate studio garage apartment, VRBO # 461988. It is the perfect place to relax and recharge and to escape the triple digit temps of south Texas.. On our small ranch in Bergheim, TX where the Hill Country Hideaway is, we operate our Margarita Man drink mix manufacturing company which we founded in 1984.
Laurent Perron purchased this Studio in 1998
Why Laurent Perron chose Bergheim
Our small ranch has everything we wanted and feels like out in the country but is really convenient to everything. The charming town of Boerne is only 10-miles west on TX 46. The ten miles east at TX 46 at US Hwy 281, a brand new Wal Mart is almost finished.
What makes this Studio unique
Our property is the perfect jumping off point to touring the Texas Hill Country wineries, the quaint town of Boerne is great for shopping and dining or a bit further west down IH 10 then up US 87 takes you to Fredericksburg where one can spend the day shopping or visiting one of the over thirty wineries in the area then relaxing at a variety of open air restaurants.

Hill Country Escape
Terrific owners & place in hill country and we can’t wait to return!!! Their hospitality and concern for your stay was genuine besides incredibly terrific!!!
I booked this for my parents to stay nearby while in town for my daughter's wedding. The sweet hosts went out of the way to accommodate their needs and to make them feel at home. They were super responsive and perfectly hospitable. It was my parents’ first time using Home Away or any other type of “BNB” lodging. They loved it!
a beautiful peaceful place...
If it hadn't been so cold and windy I would have loved to just walk around go down and see the horses but was a lovely stay! Kara was a delight! it fit what we wanted just perfect!
The hosts, Laurent and Candice, deserve 10 stars. They really are such warm, friendly, hospitable people. Very easy to book and Candice was excellent with her communication beforehand so she could ensure they were there when we arrived to greet us and show us around. The hideaway is really attached to their garage so we were able to go through their garage which made things easier for us. The downside to that was that it was a bit awkward in that there wasn't as much privacy as we had hoped for. The property is nice and set back far enough from the road. The hideaway was 300 sf but felt much bigger.
They have Wifi so we were able to live stream a movie on Netflix and watch it on our computer. They also had a lot of shampoo, conditioner, soap and body wash which was helpful. And the kitchen had everything we needed to cook except an oven mitt but there was a thick kitchen towel which can be used for that. There was no iron or ironing board but you really don't need to iron anything in the Hill Country so that was fine with me. The bathroom was large and the shower was very spacious but there is a window in the shower with no window treatments so if you're tall, you might be on display if someone happens to be walking by at the time you shower. I'm short so only my head could be seen and we're assuming the window wasn't tinted but if it was then this comment is moot.
Overall we loved it but had a few issues (that bothered my husband more so than I but his complaints make it worth it for me to mention). The mattress was extremely soft and caused us back pain the next morning since we're used to a firmer, newer mattress. The hairdryer was attached to a wall mount but was not mounted to a wall so it was difficult to use with the wall mount dangling from it. And the HVAC system was loud. They suggested we turn it to 'on' rather than 'auto' so the fan would remain on constantly and the sudden loud noise of it turning on wouldn't jolt us but that didn't help because the fan is very loud for a small space. It worked great though and looked new but my husband spoke to Laurent and found out it is 10 years old so it might be time for a newer, quieter model. We figured out that we could just turn it off all together since the weather was neither too hot nor too cold outside to warrant heat or AC. That helped immensely. If you're a light sleeper and don't need it on, I suggest turning it off.
Very close to Boerne and the Guadalupe River State Park.
Very nice "base camp" for activities in the area
Perfect for 2 people. My husband and I came to the hill country to visit wineries, hike and kayak. This hideaway was a perfect place to come "home". The Laurents and Kara were very friendly and accommodating. The kitchenette was great and there were nice places to sit out under the oaks. Enjoyed our stay.
Bergheim seems a world away from the hustle and bustle of San Antonio, but a new Wal-Mart is being built only 10-miles east at US Hwy 281 and TX 46. Then the charming town of Boerne, where I attended grade school is only 10-miles west on TX 46. The Guadalupe River flows only four miles north on FM 3351 where canoeing can be arranged. For nearby delicious Hill Country food, fine wine and spirits, O'Brien's Restaurant is open five days a week with live music on the weekends. Find O'Brien's by turning left out our driveway onto FM 3351, then turn right at TX 46. It's just on the right across from the Bergheim General Store.
