Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
My family members stayed there and it was close to my cottage, so I could walk there.
Likes: We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the wild life. Deer and rabbits were everywhere. The layout of the house was open and inviting. The grocery store in the village was less than 1/4 mile away.
Dislikes: The way it was listed, it appeared that the walk-in shower and one bedroom were down stairs and two bedrooms and a tub were up stairs. The opposite is true so when we arrived with a paraplegic, it was not what we were expecting. Maybe we misread the description or maybe the description was somewhat unclear or ambiguous. Never the less, it was difficult for the paraplegic.
For those with without these restrictions, it is a wonderful relaxed setting. The island is not as "touristy" as San Juan or others. If you want to tour the shops, you'll have to head to Orcas, San Juan.
It was everything we could hope for and more! The photographs don't do the place justice. We were two couples and two teenagers – one boy and one girl. We were all very comfortable in our accommodations. Would love to have stayed longer, to take full advantage of the different sitting spots: large living room, wraparound deck, sitting area outside main bedroom on the second floor, or even just outside on the lawn… Loved the large open fully equiped kitchen with lots of counter space. Very conveniently located. Easy walk to town where one could rent bikes to explore other parts of the island. Hardly needed the car! Really enjoyed watching the many deer roaming the lot. With a grand view of town and bay beyond.
We really enjoyed the convenience of this house. Within walking distance of down town.
We had a wonderful weekend here celebrating my husband's 50th birthday with dear friends. We played board games, hung out on the patio, walked on the beach, explored the town a little - glorious getaway!
YAY: The house is great and has really great architectural features like the windows that offer gorgeous views. We loved watching the deer and bunnies right in the front yard. It is aptly named Sunset View House! We enjoyed kicking back on the patio sipping beer at sunset and cleaning out the shells we found on the beach, which was a short walk away.
Lopez Village was pretty much across the street and we had a great time exploring there a little and filling our bellies with pastries and coffee. Visit the Fudge Factory and talk to the lady with the mohawk; she is made of awesome. Blossom Grocery was well-stocked, and the lady who owns the store is pretty much the best.
MEH: The cooking equipment is quantity-over-quality and needs a bit of sorting and updating. Be warned that the hot water ran out after 4 showers, and the thermostat is a little tricky. Bring your own toiletries; there was no soap or shampoo in the house as listed. The cleaners come right at checkout time, so give yourself plenty of time for a final walk-through.
Overall, we loved staying at this house. We will definitely stay here again if our travels lead us back to Lopez Island.
