The studio is on the second floor in a very safe and quiet building with guardian and security codes in an attractive building in the delightful Montparnasse area with its many boutiques, restaurants and excellent transportation, with a direct metro line from the De Gaulle and Orly airports.
The studio has a small terrace looking out on a chestnut tree where you can have your morning croissants or evening glass of wine. It also has hardwood floors, a comfortable high end pull-out queen bed, a large full bathroom with bathtub and shower, and a small but fully equipped kitchen, as well as a TV, DVD, and internet connection. There is also a large bookshelf with books in English and French as well as a number of maps, tour books, and restaurant guides. All towels, sheets, hair dryer and kitchen utensils are provided.
I am French/American born in the US of French parents, but raised in Paris and presently living in California where I work as a psychologist.
Wonderful lively Montparnasse neighborhood located between two large parks with excellent transportation to almost every site in Paris, plus a direct metro line from the De Gaulle airport.
The number of restaurants, markets, and boutiques within walking distance is a real draw, as well as the terrace off the main room, all of which made it irresistible and when I first saw it it was as the French say "un coup de coeur".
One rare advantage is the direct metro from Charles de Gaulle airport to the Denfert-Rochereau metro station from which there is barely a 10 minutes walk to the apt,.
Excellent tenant considerate, respectful, appreciative, and left the studio in excellent condition.
Very friendly and efficient Manager. All appointments in good order, bathroom, kitchen, Sejour cum bedroom, plenty of books (both leisure and tourism), small balcony (very pleasant on hot days). Also situated on top of a small supermarket open 7 days.
The studio was clean and tidy, and the description of amenities accurate. This studio does not get 5 stars, only 4, because of the absence of laundry facilities. However, a perfectly serviceable laundrymat is nearby (next street, 2 minutes walking)
I could not recommend this place enough.
We recommand this studio, it s close to everything. The neighborhood is very friendly and there is excellent restaurant close by. It s close to the metro, and different attraction. It s a nice place to relax after a day of sightseeing.wi fi good,it has everything you need for a week. Even if th e weather was not good, we had a great time at your place.
My partner and I had a lovely stay at Denise's flat in Montparnasse. The area is quiet and non-touristy, although convenient to 3 metro stations and the RER train from the airport. Denise was great with directions to the flat and the area in general. A few nice bonuses not included in the description were the vast number of current guidebooks in the flat for our use (saved some weight in our luggage!) and a full-size bathtub. The bathroom and kitchen were much larger than other Paris flats I have stayed in. The foldout bed was acceptable and new (although I'd say a regular bed would be better -- there is enough space for it, and we personally never used it as a couch).
Having a balcony is quite nice, although truthfully, we didn't hang out much at the flat. Still, it's nice to have your morning tea in the fresh air. There were more small, pleasant surprises about the unit than I expected -- usually it's the other way around. If you are looking for a Paris neighborhood that is more authentic and less on the tourist path, Montparnasse is a nice area. There is little to check off on the tourist list (besides the Catacombs, Montparnasse cemetery and tower), but there are pleasant restaurants, bars and bakeries within walking distance, and a nice green pedestrian median to walk down when you leave the flat.
Stay here if you want a quieter neighborhood a bit off the tourist path, although definitely still "in" Paris (we walked home from the Seine/St. Germaine area a few times). A good value for the money, particularly if you eat at home. There was a nice open-air market nearby where we stocked up on produce and staples. The only thing I would have added would be a "cheat sheet" map of the area: we sadly discovered one of the best bakeries I've ever been to on our last day there! But I think that is the way with Paris, isn't it?
Wonderful residential neighborhood situated between two beautiful parks, and within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, boutiques, markets and movie .within . Also excellent transportation with two metro stations five minutes away, and numerous bus lines radiating all over the city.
