Nice home for a ladies' getaway!

  • 4 of 5

We had seven ladies and very much enjoyed our stay. The location was very convenient to Lake Geneva and shopping. The bathrooms and kitchen were very nice, and the open concept kitchen/living/dining area made visiting with each other a great experience. The fireplace was wonderful! My only recommendations would be to put mattress toppers on the beds, they were quite firm. Also, there were areas where the cleaning service needs to pay a bit more attention -- the top of the refrigeration was very dusty and under the sink needed a cleaning. Thanks for a great weekend!

Owner's Response: So glad you had a nice time at my property. It's great to have a time and place to share with friends. Thanks for the suggestion on the mattress toppers. Although some people like a firmer mattress. I apologize for the dusty refrigerator top and under sink cabinet messiness. I put my cleaning crew right on that problem.

Had everything we needed!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in this lovely house. The view from the front window was amazing as it happened to snow while we there! There were plenty of towels, pillows and kitchen items for our use. We really didn’t need anything else. Would definitely stay again.

We absolutely loved our stay!

  • 5 of 5

Our 40th Stewart Family Reunion was an absolute success! My 92 year old uncle and 96 year old aunt found the location lovely and convenient, and easily accessible. They actually used the front steps to the deck! The space was beautifully appointed with plenty of space to sit and move about. The whole room was bright and airy, and brought the outside inside! The dining area was nice and big. We found everything we could possibly need for our prep and cooking. The kitchen island was awesome in that we could prepare and serve on the same space and still be part of the action. The space was so ample that when most of us were inside eating it still felt roomy and spacious. Total count was 31! The kids loved the amenities and we loved the green all around us; the deck was fabulous and arranged so you could have various conversations going at the same time. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, as were the bathrooms.

Only two issues -- the mattress in the smaller bedroom was uncomfortable and one had to go sleep in the single beds bedroom. It would be helpful if there were electrical outlets on the island (in any case, we couldn't find any).

Overall rating out of 10 being the best, I would rate it a 9.5 and would definitely recommend this property to anyone who is looking for something comfortable with activities, and peace and quiet when you need it.

Thank you so much for your hospitality, Mary.

Best regards,

Elisabeth Lindemuth

Owner's Response: How fantastic to celebrate a relative's birthday and bring family together for a reunion! So glad everyone loved the house and surrounding property. Abbey Springs Golf Resort has lovely amenities. There actually were a couple of outlets in the large island. They can be seen by opening the cabinet to the garbage and recycle. There is a small slide-out section of the counter near the post. This allows you to plug in a small appliance without having the cord hang over the counter. I will create a sign for this feature. Sleeping away from your own environment can be difficult. Most of us get very used to sleeping in our own beds. All in all, thank you for the nice recommendation.

Everything you need in a home away from home

  • 4 of 5

We had 7 women stay in this home and it was more than comfortable! The outdoor seating area was just what we needed for a late night glass of wine and early morning coffee. The large dining table allowed us all to sit down and enjoy a meal together which was wonderful! I would suggest this home to anyone looking for a weekend away at Lake Geneva! Mary was very prompt, and even checked in with us on the phone to make sure we had everything we needed! Thanks Mary for sharing your home with us!

Owner's Response: So happy you found my home to be so inviting and comfortable! In today's environment, getting away to a place you can call, "Home away from home," is important. We all value vacation time, and it should be enjoyed.
