About Cathy Faulkner
After being raised in the midwest and spending many years in Texas and Florida in the IT industry, I had the opportunity to take on a project of love. I have family in the area and wanted to eventually own a summer home to enjoy the fabulous weather and people.
Cathy Faulkner purchased this House in 2014
Why Cathy Faulkner chose Plymouth
My husband and I stumbled on this property while killing time in a town we were visiting for the first time. We were spending a night in Plymouth at 52 Stafford after visiting family in Wisconsin and heading to a Packer game. We bought the tickets late and most places in Green Bay were already booked. We arrived in Plymouth too early to check in and decided to drive around and check out the town. We drove by the house and I saw the for sale sign. We weren't looking for a house - I only looked up the listing just to see what property values were. Then we called the realtor.......just to see what the inside was like. Three steps into a dirty, cluttered downstairs I fell in love. I knew this could be a beautiful home again. Now we have a place family can gather, stay for Packer games, awesome salmon fishing trips and enjoy the beautiful Wisconsin weather. The people of Plymouth are wonderful and the neighbors have been supportive and very happy a house on the main strip is being taken care of. The people in this town make it great. After we retire it will without a doubt be our summer home or maybe our full time home.......I have to get my Texas husband used to the idea of Wisconsin winters :-)
What makes this House unique
It has been a labor of love working on The Happy House but believe me when I say labor. It was being used as a duplex (upper and lower) so the staircase was closed with a floor above it. The floor was covered in blue indoor/outdoor carpet but hiding underneath was beautifully preserved 85 year old maple. We started demo in February which included removing two closets upstairs to make it a bathroom, opening the staircase & returning it to it's original condition, restructuring the "den" upstairs to the original bedroom, opening the kitchen - which meant moving the bathroom & main plumbing to the other side of the house. This allowed me to redesign the bathroom and add a claw tub. My main project guy Mike and I did almost 100% of the demo and it was quite an adventure. This was my first major project. My goal was to return the house to something pretty and keep it as original (or original looking) as I could. I am grateful that no one had painted the woodwork and the kitchen farm sink & upper cabinets were still there. The tile, sink and tub in the upper bath is original to the house as well. I love the stain glass in the cabinets and windows but my favorite item is actually the garage door. It's slides to the right and still has the original leaded glass windows. It also has the original radiator covers and the floors were refinished beautifully. The house was named "The Happy House" because I was between jobs and looking for a project I was passionate about. I found it!

Charming, spacious, and well maintained home in Plymouth.
This is an ideal home for those interested in playing the golf courses in the area. Each person gets their own bedroom and there are 3 bathrooms. Everything in the home is well marked and the kitchen has everything you will need for food preparation. Very clean as well. Great stay!
Well maintained - had all we needed.
We had a great time at the beaches, park, lake and Road America. The property suited our family of varied ages well and was a great location.
Beautiful historic house
Lovely house, full of original woodwork, hardware, built-in storage nooks & plenty of windows. Great location: walking distance to grocery store, Capelle’s Farm Market, dvd rental store & historic downtown Plymouth. About 15 minutes away from Elkhart Lake/Road America. Don’t miss the live Irish Folk music & dinner at 52 Stafford on Wednesday nights.
Beautiful home! Lots of space for our family attending the wedding!
We had a great time at our son's wedding in Plymouth, the house was great gathering place for our large combined families. We all traveled from out of town and it was great to be able to get together and visit in one common location that had plenty of space for all of us.
The house was adorable, beautifully restored to its original charm. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area!
Robyn - I am so glad you enjoyed your stay with family!
We have stayed at Cathy's house several times and have had a great time. The in town location is great and the house is wonderful!!!
Beautiful and comfortable home in Plymouth
A group of 7 of us stayed and it was an oasis from long days at the track. The master bedroom had one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The living room accomdated all of us nicely. Wonderful craftman style home. Clean and nice linens. We didn't cook but everything was available in the kitchen. We'll be back!
Thanks so much Lorraine! Happy to hear you enjoyed my home. Hope to see you again next year.
