Just what we where looking for!
We had rented this property for the car show but due to Covid it was canceled. But we decided to come anyway and take vantage of the week off with our family. This house was perfect for having all of us there, With our extended family being able to drive home. Plenty of places for us to eat, rest, chat and entertain, the kitchen worked perfect for buffet style and the view is spectacular!
I am so glad my Lake Michigan home has provided respite from the COVID-19 crisis!
Family times are so vital to keep our spirits up!
Great views and spacious home
Overall we really enjoyed our stay! Karen was very responsive to questions., however Kelly the cleaning lady was not helpful and rude when she did reply. During our week we had landscapers, an electrician (to repair the stove top) roof repair man, lawn cutters and another work man show up. Not ideal for a vacation week and not very considerate of a paying customer. It would have been nice if these things could have been addressed prior to our stay. The master bedroom mattress is extremely hard and uncomfortable, we actually went into town and bought a couple foam pads to place on the mattress. I was notified one hour prior to check in that the stove top was not functioning, this would’ve been very helpful to know prior to grocery shopping and meal planning. The cleaning lady did go buy some camping like hot pads for us but I wasn’t interested in unpacking and setting those up. I would suggest printed check in and check out instructions as there was nothing provided. Kelly the cleaning lady did leave a brief poorly written note asking us to strip the beds and throw the towels in the washer before we left, which we gladly did. I did express my concern to Karen regarding the rudeness of Kelly, which she never apologized for or said she would address with her. Apparently my son was spitting in a trash can (gross I agree) and some missed on got on the wall. Karen informed me of this after we checked out and I apologized profusely and assured her we would address it with my son. Despite paying a cleaning fee she retained part of my damage deposit for it which I felt was unfair. I hope both parties can learn from this experience and improve upon things for the future.
I apologized to my guest regarding contractors being on property during their stay. It is truly difficult to get qualified contractors because many are committed to Mackinac Island. Property maintenance should definitely be done prior to visitations. I apologized for my Housekeeping Manager's behavior---she is a valuable employee. I deducted $25. from the security deposit due to unmannerly actions by a 16 year old visitor. Despite the guest's qualms, she did give my property a 5-star rating. My Lake MI home is truly a treasure!
Nature at it's best!
The sound of the the waves of Lake Michigan rolling in, the clean air, the starry and moonlight nights, the lighting on the Mackinac Bridge, the changing colors of Lake Michigan and the huge windows of a comfortable home to enjoy it all. It was a great stay. Karen the owner, was informative and helpful every step of the way. My husband and I were blessed by our stay.
So poetic and lovely review! I always say my home should be in the Hollywood movies when the sun sets overlooking the Mackinac Bridge!
There is a magical picturesque glimpse of sheer beauty! A moment in time....to reflect on gratitude and peace!
Amazing spot great communication with Karen
So much fun and there was so much to do in the area! The house was absolutely amazing! A few things that I would say is maybe the coffee maker could be updated. The master bed was not as comfortable as the other beds and I would think it would be a Queen or King. We thought there was a problem with the fruit flies and Karen was going to send someone over the next day. Nothing some vinegar didn’t take care of. The dishes needed washed before using probably because they don’t get used often. The place was totally stocked!! I always bring extra paper towels and toilet paper we didn’t even need any of that. We did take paper plates but there were those to! Plenty of extra towels. Overall it was so nice and Karen was so helpful and we are definitely going back!!
During my recent visit, I noticed the queen master bed was changed and someone moved it into another guest room. I put the mattress where it belongs. All 4 of my beds are queen--either Sealy or Serta and I chose firm mattresses. I'm happy to hear you enjoyed my lakeside rental!
The U.P. experience
Our stay at this property was just plain awesome!! The views from the living room and three of the bedrooms was stellar, the amount of space offered made the stay very comfortable. The location of this home made it very easy and convenient to access St. Ignace, Mackinac City.
This home was truely a home away from home. Such a great landing spot for our day trips that included Pictured Rocks, Munising, Mackinac Island, Sault St.Marie Soo Locks, Taquaminan Falls, Mackinac City, and the beautiful Highway 2.
The owner was very helpfull and very communicative. This home is highly recommended and is on our list to stay at again in the future!
I want my guests to know I am available to answer questions regarding my rental property, as well as day touring advice, Mackinac Island questions and St. Ignace businesses. I am thrilled to provide a clean and spacious vacation home!
