About Tim Womble

As an architectural history buff, I enjoy visiting locations which maintain their historic cultural buildings. I have been in property management & investment for many years in the Montrose area. All of my rental properties are historic buildings located in historic neighborhoods. An avid traveler, having traveled throughout the world.

Tim Womble purchased this apartment in 1998

Why Tim Womble chose Houston

I had no idea that I would own this historic property when I first heard about it. A friend of mine had owned the buildings a number of years ago and sold it while giving a mortgage on it. My friend, the past owner, called me one day in 1998 and said he was having to foreclose on the building because the new owner was not making payments. My friend wanted me to purchase the apartments and I told him I already had enough real estate but that I owned a company that managed and also sold real estate and I would be glad to do that. He agreed. On the first day I could enter the apartments I was surprised to find them so large and they seemed to have most things that tenants want. I called my friend the next day and worked out a deal to purchase them.

What makes this apartment unique

The benefits to this property are the location and the historic quality of the property. It is located just southwest of downtown Houston and just north of the Texas Medical Center with the Museum District close as is Herman Park and the zoo. The apartment building was built about 100 years ago and I have lovingly restored it, it has the grace and charm of yesteryear with the technology updates like a very fast WiFi, large flat screen TV's in each bedroom and the living/dining room.

This could be a very nice apartment...it has been nicely refurbished.

  • 1 of 5

The apartment supplies all necessary amenities BUT it was absolutely filthy! I felt as though it had not even been cleaned after the prior guests left. The floor and all throw rugs were disgusting. There was even bits of tissue on living room floor; all appliances needed wiped down and I felt as though the sheets had not been washed between guests...they smelled of cough drops and had brown stains!! All surfaces, especially next to the king bed needed wiped down..obvious water glass stains. Most unfortunate as it COULD be a nice place. The entrance key was not where it was supposed to be so I had to call owner to come let me in. Don't know what I would have done had he not been available.

Nice place, great location

  • 5 of 5

For out of towners this is a good location. Everything is close and the train is a short 5 minute walk - great plus if you want to move around town. Clean, safe, neighbors are nice and quiet.

We needed to be close to downtown. This location was great! The apartment is very old but comfortable. It had room for our family needs. I would stay here again!
