About Deb & Kevin

Kevin and Deb have lived in Gold Beach for over 60 years and raised 3 children here. They own a local company and have enjoyed sharing their home with guests coming to the Oregon Coast.

Deb & Kevin purchased this house in 2014

Why Deb & Kevin chose Gold Beach

Kevin and Deb previously owned Surfside Vacation Rental and wanted to build a new custom home for guests to enjoy. They felt like most vacation rentals in the area had great views, but lacked the new amenities and clean new feel.

What makes this house unique

You will not find a property like this one in the Gold Beach area. Old growth Monterey cypress and Shore Pine trees with a flat, 1 acre grassy lawn. Our home sits 50 feet above the surf, with a private trail to the beach.

perfect quiet dreamy place!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I loved our time at the Seabreeze. The view is stunning. We often had the whole beach to ourselves. The house was super clean and had everything we needed and more. The hosts were so quick and nice to deal with. Take a drink to the far bench overlooking the ocean, just magic!

The house is bright, modern and clean!

The location is wonderful sitting back from a high cliff overlooking the Pacific. Large yard which was great for flying kites! Steps half way down to the beach and then a rope scramble the rest of the way which was very doable for us and our young adult children. We would rent this property again for sure. The only thing that would make it better is to have a second bathroom (or even half bath).

comfortable for small family

  • 4 of 5

Tough review to write. I enjoyed our stay, it was very clean and the location was great, peaceful with a great view. We stayed up at night to see the stars because of no street lights close so it was very dark out. The view of the ocean was incredible and the owners were very nice and accommodating. Only drawback, beach access is a bit on the difficult side, so unless you are agile and fit enough up to pull yourself up with a rope, don't even bother to try. The "grill" and I use that term loosely, is on the poor side of portable camping grill that took 45 minutes to cook a hamburger so we never bothered with it again. You pay a damage deposit of $79.00, like most renters, don't expect to get it back. We were told we weren't getting it back initially because of a pair of broken binoculars that we didn't use, so make sure if they are there, don't touch them. I told the owners they were broken when I went to use them, so the damage deposit hold back switched to soiled linen. Which was a face cloth that I used to wipe my daughters feet and even though we tried to wash it, didn't quite come clean, so I accepted that one, but that is some expensive face cloth. Will you enjoy your stay here, yes you will, but don't expect to grill anything, and be ready to lose your damage deposit. We even swept up and washed table cloths and did extra laundry which isn't required, but thats who we are. I will not let this ruin my memories though, not over a $79 face cloth.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your nice review, we are so glad you enjoyed the Southern Oregon Coast. We have never claimed a damage deposit in the 6 years we've been with VRBO. We were unable to take the stains out on the Crate and Barrel bathroom towels so we had to take them out of the house. As for the binoculars, you said you were not responsible and I believed it. We have enjoyed many barbecues on the ocean view porch.

Wonderful home right on the coast - fantastic sunsets!

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfect for my wife and I during our two week stay in Oregon. The home had everything we needed to make for a relaxing time. The views of the ocean from the deck are fantastic, great place to hang out and enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine after a full day of hiking or exploring the wonderful Oregon beaches and coastline.

We used this as our home base to explore as far south as Crescent City, and the impressive Redwood forests, and to the fog encapsulated light house up north at Cape Blanco. Every day we would go out and explore. So much to see along the coastline and up along the Rogue River, and then come back and relax, fire up the grill and enjoy a great dinner and relaxing evening often with a walk along the beach. Its a little tricky getting down to the beach directly from the house, but just a short walk or drive to the end of the road and you can enjoy miles of beach. Ran on the beach one night and saw a Bald Eagle feasting on a seal, how cool is that! Saw lots of wildlife including Osprey, sea birds, whales and seals. Enjoyed some fresh blueberries from the garden.

One of our favorite places along that stretch of the coastline is Otter Point, which is just a couple miles away. Very interesting sandstone formations and incredible picturesque views, also a virtually private beach if you can make your way down the somewhat tricky trail.

Gold Beach is a few minutes away and had everything we needed including a great meal at Spinners. Overall the house is well equipped and has everything we would expect in a vacation home.

Best place I’ve stayed!

  • 5 of 5

This place is clean, the bathroom is out of a romance novel! The views and sounds of the ocean are extremely relaxing and the owner goes above and beyond to make sure the stay is comfortable.

I was disappointed previous tenants have obviously been hard on the place. Some drawers fall when opened, board games missing pieces and bar chairs were wobbly. However, it did not take away from this home. It just made me incredibly disappointed in people... I hope the rates on the beach home stay the same and the owner continues to rent this piece of heaven out, because I’ll certainly return!
