The Perfect Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

I'm not even sure where to begin. There are so many things to love about this place. The house has plenty of space. We stayed there with two other couples and our family of four (two adults/two kids) and never felt crowded. The family room has a magnificent view of the water, and the porch is the perfect place to sit as the sun goes down. The beach is steps from the house, and we were even able to dock our boat at the house. Also, it was so nice to have two full bathrooms. The upstairs has a walk-in shower and the main floor has a bathtub, which was perfect for the kids. It was nice to have access to a washer/dryer, too. We brought beach towels, but should have left those at home. There are games to play, both indoor and outdoor. Not that we had much time to watch TV, but it was set up with Netflix and basic cable. The kitchen has all the tools and dishes you could need, and even had some condiments and spices. Our kids loved running around the yard, and we enjoyed the fire pit once they were in bed. All in all, a great house. The owners were responsive and very accommodating. They were very friendly and helpful. We look forward to returning to this house and Diamond Lake in the future.

A work in progress

  • 2 of 5

The owners seem lovely, and the place is adorable (or on its way there) but this was not quite the experience we expected. This is a house that still needs some work. The screens on the lake side doors were ripped to shreds and so we could not have the doors open on beautiful cool days. And the sliders do not slide easily so it was difficult for our kids to go in and out of the house. The pier was half sunk and the deck around the house is rotted out. The kitchen does not have a dishwasher, nor is there any seating to eat inside - just 2 bar chairs. We were not able to get the exterior lights to work. The location is delightful and it is generally a very cute house, just not quite as it was depicted. The owners were responsive when we voiced our concerns. The house was well stocked with cleaning supplies and other incidentals which is very nice.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review and for the kind words about us. We understand you had a few issues, so we wanted to wait until we completed further renovations before responding. We have spent the remainder of the summer and fall continuing to upgrade the place. Since we purchased the place in 2015, my wife and I have been working whenever possible to continue to upgrade the place and provide additional necessary fixes, adding a more robust upstairs bathroom and, most recently prior to the summer of 2016, replacing the roof. We have spent the fall replacing boards in the deck and elements of the lighting and will be looking to re-open the place for next summer with even more to offer for renters. We're hoping to do even more in the spring. While we're continuing to do the work ourselves, we know that the place will be even better for the summer of 2017 and hope to have you back so you can see how it's improved. Thanks again for staying and for the constructive feedback.

Great place for a quiet weekend!

  • 4 of 5

This was a great place to spend a weekend with friends! The home is recently renovated and was exactly what you need for a quiet weekend. Very comfortable, plenty of space, and modern bathrooms, kitchen, A/C etc. which made our stay comfortable. Plenty of bedroom space as well!

The back porch and backyard look out onto a small lake, which is a great view in the evening at sunset. Plenty of backyard space and a small beach area, which the kids used to play. Very quiet and relaxing to sit outside.

Relaxing Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We recently rented this house with friends and family and had an amazing stay! The owners were terrific! They were friendly and accommodating. It's not too far from Chicago where we live, so it was the perfect weekend retreat. The house sits on a quiet alcove of a lake with plenty of outdoor space to hang out and relax. The kids loved the beach and the pier as well as the games indoors.

The house was recently renovated with a brand new stylish bathroom and fully stocked kitchen. The bedrooms are large, very clean and comfortable. With the 3rd bedroom upstairs, it gave some nice separation between our family and friends. The kitchen and outdoor grill were perfect for meal times. The open concept kitchen and living space was perfect for socializing and letting the kids run around. It was the perfect getaway and we can't wait to go back!!

Fun tine !

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home with our family. The kids enjoyed the small beach on the property and it had a pier for the boat. It was nice and quiet back in the cove that the house sits on. The owners were very friendly to deal with. There was some remodelling doing on in the house but it didn't effect our stay. I hope to be able to see it all finished in the future!
