WELCOME TO OUR HOME! I'm Brenda, a visual artist & freelance curator living in the heart of Wellfleet. I'd love to host you and have you experience the real Cape Cod. You'll love my place - not only will you be in the best part of the Outer Cape, you'll be in the best part of town!
Why BRENDA chose Wellfleet
We made this our primary residence because: We live at the beach. We are Home to a 100 year old Artists' Colony with Art Galleries, Music, and Cutting Edge Theater. Oyster farming is one of our coveted industries a practice dating back to the ancient Romans as early as the 1st century BC. We love the light, the dunes, the soft landscape. Our strong ties with the Provincetown Artists' Colony stems from fabulous relationships with visual artists we have represented and exhibited in our gallery for 46 years.

Beautiful house with character in an excellent location
We rented the downstairs portion of Brenda's house for 5 days. The house has a lovely charm to it. It is in a great location, within walking distance to Main St Wellfleet and a very short drive to some great restaurants. The house contained all we needed for our stay. We would definitely stay there again
Lovely home with gracious host in the heart of Wellfleet
My daughter, granddaughter, and I all loved staying in this warm and peaceful house, which is an easy walk to Mayo Bay Beach, bookstores, galleries, restaurants, theatre, and Main Street. Wellfleet is a charming town surrounded by the National Seashore where you can find some of the most beautiful ocean beaches in the World, clear kettle ponds, and bay beaches for swimming and boating.
This 18th Century house was lovingly renovated with all amenities. The beds are the most comfortable I ever experienced, including my own at home. A patio off of the living room is peaceful and private and includes an outdoor shower and grill.
Brenda is a most gracious hostess. She is always available, never intrusive, and knows the inner and outer histories of the area. Brenda’s home was so delightful and she was so accommodating that we extended our stay another week and we hope to return next year.
A perfect in-town rental!
Beautiful and charming
My mother, teenage daughter and I absolutely adored this small home in Wellfleet. It is in a charming area of the Cape, not at all commercial. We delighted in Brenda's lovely home. It truly has high grade amenities - retro style, modern stove, low impact front load washer and dryer, soapstone (I believe) counters and sink ! This is all balanced beautifully with the original wide plank floors and hardware, not to mention a spectacular view. GORGEOUS. Brenda was so delightful and interesting, (Not to mention thankfully patient and laughing when we set off the smoke detector broiling steak!) yet discreetly departing to leave us to experience our adventure.
I believe it was the only place my 72 year old mother seemed truly at peace during our 2 week long road trip. All 3 of us felt we could live there forever. We remember it fondly and would HIGHLY recommend this home.
A Wellfleet gem
We can, and will, fill in with the adjectives, but this pretty much is the heart of our review: we booked for four nights, extended at stay’s end to five nights and regretted on the way home not staying for a sixth night.
We certainly agree with other positive reviews: charming, unbeatable location, a foodie’s kitchen, relaxing, great patio, etc. Restaurants, groceries, shops all walkable. Right across the street is a cool walking bridge crossing Duck Creek, where we found ourselves stopping each time we’d go out – day or night – to watch the swirling activities in the water below while the tides changed or the stunning number of stars in the sky. As a truly added feature that alone could pitch this rental, this lower floor unit – don’t think “basement” or dark or anything like that -- sits a block below the town clock that, enchantingly, rings in ship’s time (though it did take a full day to figure out how to decipher ship’s time).
Brenda is a charming host who provided spot-on reviews of places to eat, walk, shop – as well as some good stories about Wellfleet and its people. The beds are seriously comfortable, artwork on the walls unique and with personal stories behind them, wide-plank wood floors impeccable, appliances and kitchen supplies just perfect (more and better than any vacation home we’ve stayed in), and the air conditioning cool and especially quiet. We visited during a relatively less hectic time on the Cape – mid-September – so it meant overhearing the conversations of locals in restaurants, not paying any fees at the beaches, an unending parade of seals swimming up and down the oceanfront (yes, didn't help my surf fishing), and enjoying warm days with zero humidity. Still, we’d recommend this place in any season, and hope to come back soon.
Our family of four had a magnificent stay on the ground level of this charming 18th Century house. We chose to spend a good portion of each day inside, and although the space was a bit snug, every detail of this artistic home made the time spent indoors feel relaxing and amply spacious. A light-filled view of the Japanese style garden out back was a pleasure to wake up to every morning, as well as views out the bedroom windows overlooking duck creek. Every detail in the home is beautifully thought-out and well crafted which helped make our stay not only comfortable but an extremely pleasing experience aesthetically. We would definitely come back again!
A Charming Character Home With Unique History!
This very clean antique home complete with a way positive vibe was a fabulous experience for my husband and me. Never intrusive, Brenda was the quintessential host offering up historical information about the property and its connection to members of the artists colony who gathered here for art openings and informal social get-togethers.
The location is unbeatable with beautiful views of the water. The town center is practically around the corner. The antique furnishings are well appointed with a full display of character and charm. A lot of thought went into putting this place together and it shows. We cannot speak more highly of the comfortable beds and tasteful room darkening shades! The kitchen is fully equipped making it possible to cook in with all the comforts of home. The private garden patio is an awesome space to chill out—we especially enjoyed having our morning coffee hanging outside and up close with the birds. A refreshing change from the cutesy housekeeping beach cottages we are familiar with on Cape Cod.
Quiet Minds Studio was a great find offering massage and acupuncture for that special spa day we all deserve from time to time, all within a three minute walk, (no kidding). Payomet offered up some great music and our favorite places to eat were the Black Fish Restaurant, Ceraldi's, and at the latest in food truck cuisine now located in town. Sole's truck can be found parked down at the pier and Joey's is over by the Mayo Beach Tent. This was, for us, a very cool Austin meets Wellfleet experience. So much is going on in Wellfleet. WHAT theater has some of the best summer stock performances we've seen in all our years traveling.
Overall our stay exceeded our expectations at this relaxing retreat in the Wellfleet Village. A rejuvenating get away, memorable to say the least!
