In 2013 National Geographic Magazine ranked Caesars Head State Park, a wilderness treasured by locals but virtually unknown outside South Carolina, in the Top 10 of the Worlds 100 Best Hidden Adventures. Just ¼ mile away is the dramatic overlook at the heart of Caesar's Head State Park. Hit the hiking trails to Raven Cliff Falls, where a suspension “Mountain Bridge” overlooks the 420 foot falls as they splash deep into the mountain cove below. Where the Eastern US Continental Divide marks the NC / SC state line you can ride up to 'Pretty Place', the aptly named open-air chapel popular for weddings with panoramic views.
Since it had a starring role during filming of 'THE HUNGER GAMES', nearby DuPont State Recreational Forest between Brevard and Hendersonville has become a must stop for movie pilgrims. Here, among the trails shaded by pines and popluars, is where you can discover a dramatic landscape of waterfalls, hidden lakes and fishing streams.
The quaint college town of Brevard, NC, famous for its summer music festivals, is a must stop for groceries, one-of-a-kind local shops and fine restaurants. Near Brevard is Pisgah National Forrest, where you can take a mountain stream plunge (if you dare) down the famous naturally formed “Sliding Rock”.

Charming and comfortable - absolutely worthy of a return visit.
Have been to a bunch of similar property rentals like this one, ranging from ultra primitive accomodations in remote locations to posh glamping in trendy areas. This property is somewhere right in the middle, having the look of a house but with the feel of a cabin and the perfect 'modern day' appliances and neighborhood atmosphere way atop a pretty spectacular 3200' mountain.
We managed to hike the beautiful Jones Gap Trail starting at the parking lot north of the Ceasar's Head visitor center all the way to the Jones Gap waterfall and then back. Beware the Tom "Killer" Miller trail at the start/finish -- it's a slow, difficult climb to finish!
We visited the town of Brevard, NC to the north west and ate at the Square Root. Both the town and dining experience was excellent.
This property is absolutely worthy of a return visit.
Piece of Heaven
We loved the house! It was very well stocked with everything. The location was perfect for hiking. We hiked every day and having a comfortable place to relax at night was wonderful! We are hoping to return in the near future.
A Great Place to Relax and Enjoy...
Thanks, Megan and John, for renting out their lovely house. My daughter and I spent two relaxing days in the cabin, catching up with each other and enjoying each other's presence. The house is clean, well maintained, and adequately stocked with the essentials in the kitchen. Most of all, it is fantastically close to a number of natural wonders in NC like Table Rock and Caesar's Head. In fact, we were rained in on our first day there, which turned out to be just as nice as it would have been had we ventured out into the woods. If you are looking for a quiet place so that you can relax, reflect, and catch up with family members and friends, this is a nice place for you.
Thanks again, Megan and John.

Great weekend getaway !
Great place to spend a weekend nice property look forward to coming back in the spring or summer so I can utilize the common areas(kayaking, fishing, whitewater rafting etc..) very clean and furnished with Extra items as firewood charcoal and kitchen items .. I wish I brought my leaf blower all the beautiful leaves covered the driveway and it was little challenging to back car out, I did find a leaf blower when I emptied the trash in the shed as we were leaving...lol
Great house and neighborhood!
Cute, cozy and very quiet/private house in adorable neighborhood. The house exceeded my expectations! No cell service for my phone but that was a plus! Lol
My husband and I found this listing when looking for a dog friendly place to rent for an extended weekend. The house is located in a gated community, but keeps the feeling of being secluded. It was easy to find and was great for hosting my husband's family during the day. The house itself is extremely cute and we found it to be very relaxing. We are keeping this on our short list of places to stay next time we are in the area.
