Overview

About the property

1 Bedroom 1 Bath Mountain Cottage with Queen size sofa couch in living room

Enjoy the outdoors while staying in comfort. Cottage sits on 13+ private acres with its very own waterfall. No wonder it is located in “The Land of Waterfalls”. Fully furnished and equipped with all the comforts of home, plus a covered porch to enjoy the wildlife. Lots of deer, white and grey squirrels. Occasionally you may see a bobcat, fox or black bear, but they are shy. Several walking trails right out the front door. The Cherokee Indians used to live in our valley and other near by areas up until the 1800's. Last year was our first year renting the cottage. So many people enjoyed sitting on the deck; we expanded the deck and wrapped it around from the kitchen door to make it more convenient for cooking out, etc. Although the cottage sits in the mountains, we are in the Little River Valley; therefore, the roads traveled are not very steep and curvy. It is an easy drive to near by towns.

About Priscilla Tinsley

My husband I built our home in 1993. It is located just up the drive from our guest cottage that was built in 1995. We first purchased a five acre lot and later added acreage for a total of 13+ mountain acres with a waterfall, several creeks and hiking trails throughout the property. We decided to share our mountain tranquility with others and rent out the guest cottage on VRBO.

Priscilla Tinsley purchased this cottage in 1993

Excellent N.C. Mountain retreat

  • 5 of 5

The Cottage had excellent reviews and my expectations were exceeded. It is nestled in a quiet secluded hillside, and had everything we needed to enjoy a family stay. It was a pleasure to have limited Cell and WiFi , if we needed it we could drive down the hill, The getaway experience was much better without the kids being glued to devices, and they instantly found other ways to have fun. This location is excellent with Dupont state Forest at your back door and Brevard and Pigsah forest just a short drive. We are already dreaming of our next trip!

Secluded Mountain Retreat

  • 5 of 5

My daughters and I have been coming to the Brevard area during the summer for several years now. Bobcat Falls was central to everything we enjoy: Pisgah Forest, downtown Brevard and the music center, and Dupont Forest. Priscilla and Eric are great hosts. The cottage was fully equipped with every convenience: even plastic wrap and foil. Nothing was overlooked. Mornings on the front deck with a cup of coffee were wonderful. If you're looking for a nice base camp for your WNC adventures, consider this location.

Perfect location to explore The Land of Waterfalls

  • 5 of 5

Private cottage in the mountains. Clean and cozy. Excellent location to access surrounding hiking trails. We enjoyed hiking to numerous waterfalls in DuPont State Park and Pisgah National Forest. Town of Brevard is also very close, less than 20 min drive, and boasts lots of delicious restaurants (our favorites= Quixote and The Square Root). Tinselys were excellent hosts and it is very easy to contact them during the booking process and while at the cabin. There are also numerous trails on the property. Would definitely stay again!
