In town fully renovated antique home with large rooms, high ceilings and charming accents. On the 1st floor is the master bedroom with private bath, queen bed and AC. The fully equipped kitchen features stainless steel appliances. A half bath is found off the kitchen. Additionally on the 1st floor is a washer and dryer. In the living room you'll find a TV with DVD player. Upstairs are 2 additional bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with 2 twin beds, both with AC. Also upstairs is a full bath with tub only. Out the back door is a deck with seating for 4 and down the steps is a blue stone patio with a Weber gas grill and additional seating for 6. Just off the patio is an outdoor shower. There is a large back yard. Outside this beautiful home you can sit on the farmers' porch where you may hear music coming from Brooks Park across the street. Here, you can also access the 25 mile Cape Cod rail trail. A few blocks away is the Brooks Free Library. Also within walking distance you'll find the Farmer's Market and Community Center. Take a short stroll to Ruggie's Diner for breakfast and to Red's Restaurant for lunch or dinner. About a half mile down the road you can golf at Cranberry Valley Golf Course or take in a Cape Cod League baseball game. Beautiful Bank Street beach, a little more than a mile down the sidewalk, has a lifeguard, bathrooms, concession stand, and a trex walkway between the dunes.
This property is a beautiful historic Victorian home which we love in the middle of Harwich Center where the vitality of the community is focused and where fun activities occur just about every day.
You will have a feeling of privacy even though the house is on a busy street because it is
set back. It is easy to travel to any site due to the location. If you are a senior citizen, ask
the owner if you could enter the house at the front door instead of the back due to the
eight steps up to the deck. The master bed on the first floor was very comfortable, and
the space in the house was good. The kitchen was very easy to work in.
This is a wonderful craftsman style home with lots of room and great character. Huge living room and modern, easy to work in kitchen. The owners are really nice people and make sure everything you need is taken care of (except sheets and towels and personally I always bring my own anyway). Did I mention how nice this house is? Not a beachside shack - this is a place you will be happy to call home for a weekend, week, whatever. The location lends itself to a classic New England vacation - you can walk to Ruggie's for breakfast or to the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod League if you're into baseball (I am) or take a short ride to Brewster, Orleans, or Chatham to catch some of the other teams nearby. A small local grocer is a 5 minute walk and there is a HUGE Stop n Shop 4 minutes away by car. Bank Street Beach is just over a mile away and isn't busy during pre-peak weeks and is deserted after 5 pm (our favorite beach time). I loved the home and week on the Cape. I will rent this house again - no doubt in my mind.
Thank you Margherita and Frank :)
First visit to the Cape and we loved it! Excellent location in town--walk or bike to everything. Owners most accommodating. House well-kept and well-supplied. We were treated to a concert and a craft fair across the street (Brooks Park). Many good restaurants within 2 miles, both family-friendly (George's Pizza, Sundae School ice cream) and high-end. Good, clean beaches in town, though parking is tough on weekends. Will return if group size is similar (2 couples, 2 kids)!
The house is located In Harwich Center where many attractions are within walking distance, including the Brooks Free Library, Brooks Park, the Cape Cod Rail Trail, the Harwich Community Center, the Farmers' Market, and Brooks Academy Museum, as well as the Harwich Historical Society. In the park directly across the street you will find bocce ball courts, lighted tennis courts, basketball courts, the Cape Cod Rail Trail, and 2 days a week live music.
Beautiful Bank Street Beach can be reached by car or bike where one can enjoy the warm waters of Nantucket Sound. Parking passes can be obtained at the Community Center. The beach features a trek walkway, concession stand, bathroom facilities, and a lifeguard.
