2BR Oceanfront; Clean; Great Views!
Unit: Village by the Sea 311 | Maui Guidebook
Complex hallway and exterior construction will take place over a 2 year period from 9/17-9/19 however all units and pool will be open.
A nice, clean oceanfront unit. Unit 311 is on the third floor, and the ocean and sunset views from the living room and bedrooms are spectacular. A really great value for the location, quality and price – in fact this unit is our 2015 top pick for a 2BR beachfront in Kihei – you simply won’t find a better value on the beach.
The floorplan layout of Village By The Sea rooms are not long rectangles like most Kihei condos – much, much better in terms of feeling like you’re in a home and not a box. You’re oceanfront on a sand beach also.
Owners live in the building, and are friendly and knowledgable. More importantly, they’re on top of maintaining the condo, and it really has a feel of home-away-from home.
One reason the price stays in line is that the location isn’t sitting inside one of the posh resort areas in Wailea – but folks who’ve been to Maui know that actually matters very little because Maui is very small. You can be at any part of South Maui from here within minutes. All beaches in Maui are public, so in ten minutes you can be sitting at the same beach Paris Hilton lounges on (that would be Wailea Beach, by the way) but without the “on Wailea Beach” price tag.
Village By The Sea sits beachfront on Waipu’ilani Beach, a long sand and coral beach protected by reef. Another local beach a short walk is Kalepolepo Beach Park, home to culturally significant and the most accessible ancient Hawaiian fishpond in Maui. Both are great beaches of convenience for when you want to escape touristy crowds, have dinner or drinks while you watch the sunset, or strike up a down-to-earth conversation with a local family.

We really enjoyed our stay here and wish we had more time to use the facilities. We were in town for a family reunion so we really only used the unit to sleep. We would certainly stay here again. There was great beach access and I wish we had time to go for a nice beach walk as it seemed there was a nice long area of beach to walk. Also the location was just close enough to town. Not too loud but still just a few minutes to everything.
Beautiful Beachfront apartment
I stayed in this apartment with my wife and kids. The location in my view is perfect and peaceful. Easy access to the beach makes morning walks a great pleasure. The facility is kept clean. The place was noisy due to construction when we stayed there. David and Sara are awesome hosts, very hospitable and helpful. Second bathroom is old and has got old amenities. But we loved the place. My kids loved the collection of books they have and they enjoyed reading them. Easy access to Safeway and other stores. We went to Road to Hana 2 times and airport is minutes away. Overall best place to have family fun in maui for a great price.
Would be 5 star BUT
The condo was great. Loved the 3 floor location. The views from the lanai's are fantastic. The king bed in the master was great but the 2 twin beds in the 2nd bedroom seemed extra small, as is the room. The kitchen was well equipped. The updated shower is fantastic. Great water pressure and no shortage of hot water. BUT, at this time, there is MAJOR construction/renovation going on at the building. Not "Pardon Our Dust" construction but jack hammers from 8:30a.m. - 4:00p.m. Monday-Friday!!! Disclaimer: There are 2 buildings and it is only happening on the Anthurium building at this time. But based on the red dots spray painted on the lanai's, it IS going to be happening on the Plumeria building next. Additionally, the pool is in the middle of the two buildings. Even if you are staying in the other building, the pool area is nearly vacant because of the noise. Unfortunately for us, they were heavily working directly outside our unit, or to the sides our entire stay. If we were in the unit, we couldn't even open the curtains. The NOISE is incomprehensible. Did I mention jack hammers?!? I cannot imagine couples with young children trying to get them down for a nap. The owner did give us a partial refund, which we appreciated, since we had been given no notice.
All that being said, we would stay there again if we return in two years. However, I cannot stress THE NOISE level of this construction. Even if you are warned there is construction going on and there maybe some noise, I would not recommend staying at this complex until this construction project is 100% over!
Great location and with the current upgrading, this will be an even better place to stay
We really enjoyed the spaciousness of this space. The location in Kihei can’t be beat.
This condo unit is beautiful. The view is amazing, closest unit to the ocean and it was so hard to leave. When I return to Maui I will be reserving the same condo!
We had a great time in Maui! This condo is beautiful. The condo is very spacious. The unit was very clean. There is a great deal of thought put in to every detail. They have lots of books, and hooks for extra towels and clothes, which we found very convenient. It is located in the middle of Maui, so very close to everything. Loved it!
Location One reason the price stays in line is that the location isn’t sitting inside one of the posh resort areas in Wailea – but folks who’ve been to Maui know that actually matters very little because Maui is very small. You can be at any part of South Maui from here within minutes. All beaches in Maui are public, so in ten minutes you can be sitting at the same beach Paris Hilton lounges on (that would be Wailea Beach, by the way) but without the “on Wailea Beach” price tag. The Beach The beach is what I like to call a “beach of convenience.” In our spoiled Maui island view, anything but a “10″ is considered such. There are plenty of world class beaches within a couple minutes – and the beach here is long, sandy and perfectly tailored for a stroll or sunset picnic. It is also a perfect place to watch the whales in season – in fact the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary learning center and culturally significant/most accessible ancient Hawaiian fishpond (Kalepolepo Beach Park) are immediately adjacent to your beach. These are all great beaches to escape touristy crowds, have dinner or drinks while you witch the sunset, or strike up a down-to-earth conversation with a local family. W98053531-01
