Nancy Pelett purchased this apartment in 1984
I purchased this property in 1984 after many trips to San Francisco I found that the Nob Hill area of Portland had the same type of feel to me. I have a passion for everything vintage. I love the feeling of the turn of century homes. A chance to experience an era gone by....
Walk score 98! Walk, bus, Max transit, street car, trolley, car to go, just blocks away. Great food, fun shopping, largest city park (5100 acres!) in the US just blocks away. But then walk up to this peaceful apartment and you will feel like you are in the country..Walk to The Pearl and Powell's book store too.
The unit is well situated within walking distance of Trader Joe's and multiple restaurants. Access was easy and Nancy was responsive to questions. The wi-fi worked well and the kitchen was well equipped. The condiments and seasonings that were provided were a nice touch. There is no radio or television in the unit, which made you feel a bit isolated. Those would be great additions.
This was a wonderful home away from home and we would happily stay here again. Nancy was very welcoming and helped us to stay cool during a particularly warm spell. The nearby restaurants and grocery stores are easy walking distance and the location is also close driving distance to central Portland destinations.
My wife and I absolutely loved this place - perfect location for walking to amazing restaurants, coffee shops and ice cream parlors! And Trader Joes basically across the street was great. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, though, so be aware. The other side of that coin is Portland has such great public transportation that getting around without a car is really simple. We only had a car for a short portion of our visit, and only because we needed a carseat for our daughter for a couple of excursions. Otherwise, we would have just used public transpo and uber for the whole trip.
The house and the unit itself are so charming and comfortable. Everything you need to really "move in" is there. If you are looking for updated, super-modern appliances, etc, then this isn't the place for you, but that didn't detract from our experience one bit.
Finally, Nancy was a pleasure to deal with for the entire process. When we go back to Portland, we'll stay here!
This second-floor apartment was a cozy retreat space for us and our daughter over the holidays. The listing was accurate and the place met our needs well. It provided plenty of space, including bonus storage in the basement for our mountain bikes. We walked easily to the trendier parts of Portland (Nob Hill, the Pearl District) and on longer treks downtown as far as the river. We also enjoyed hikes and biking uphill to Pittock Mansion and into Forest Park. Specialty shops and restaurants abound in the area, and it's just a few blocks to both Trader Joe's and Fred Meyers for any shopping supplies. We particularly enjoyed Blue Moon, Moonstruck Chocolates, and ping-pong at the Silver Dollar Bar.
The property was clean and well-maintained and the owner was responsive and easy to work with. We were pleased with our stay and have no reservations in recommending both the property and the proprietor to others.
The homeowner was available and responded to all requests quickly.
The apartment was clean, and comfortable, and well located. It was especially nice to enjoy great bedding and sheets after long raining days.
We felt safe and had restaurants and shopping within a minute of walking.
Downtown is a short easy walk from the apartment.
Our hostess was friendly and helpful. The house was clean and comfortable and it was nice to retire to nice beds and great sheets. The apartments are perfectly located with lots of restaurants and shopping and uber was never more than three minutes away. Portland is a cool city. I can't wait to return.
