Fantastic Large Home Right Near Downtown Sarasota
Fantastic 4 bedroom home for large family or groups, just walking distance from downtown Sarasota. Tom (owner) was incredibly helpful and communicative. Would highly recommend this rental if looking in the area.
Location, location, location
You can't beat the location of this house--right downtown with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Beaches within an easy drive. Tom is a very helpful, knowledgeable host, and he made the whole process easy and enjoyable. The kitchen and bathrooms are upgraded and there's lots of space to convene--including an outdoor deck that we enjoyed.
The listing is honest about the construction right next door, but Tom can't help that. I'll give four stars out of five in case you're expecting a "beach house" vibe. The house is very close to water but also close to a lot of traffic. You might feel surprised when you pull up, because it's on two very busy streets. All in all it's in VERY close in proximity to all the things you'd hope to do in Florida.
Thanks Ashley. My home is indeed on two busy streets because it's in the heart of and the gateway to downtown Sarasota"s revitalized and historic downtown. In fact t is a short stroll to everything our downtown has to offer including world class restaurants, theaters and arts district, Van Weazel Peforming Arts Hall, Bayfront/waterfront marina and park, Whole Foods, Starbucks, night clubs, and five minute drive to world class beaches. It's on busy streets but quiet inside. Not to mention that you can't find another beautiful 1800 square foot home sleeping eight within a short 5 minutes walk of everything great about this tourist magnet of a city. It's not meant to be a beach home. You can't walk to ALL things/places downtown if you stay on a remote island or beach. Tourists love "Downrown Sarasota" and there is no other vacation home like mine large, spacious, beautifully historic, centrally located and serving downtown tourists.
Four couples from my family stayed here for a family wedding downtown and we could walk to almost everything. The house is very comfortable. We walked to wonderful breakfast places and got our groceries at Whole Foods all in walking distance. Several of us took morning walks over the bridge and around the marina. You can't beat this house for location. Right now the construction noise is a bit much, but we still enjoyed the balcony as a gathering place. Being together as family out weighed the noise most of the time, but it is hard to sleep past 8:00am on the week days.
thank you Linda for the kind review as far as my rental home itself and the location. As far as noise from construction, keep in mind that there is a tremendous amount of construction all over this great city in the HIGHLY DESIRED LOCATIONS because Sarasota, Florida is a tourist magnet. The hotel being built next door will be completed soon, and it would be unfair to judge my property based on temporary construction which is beyond my control as an owner and something very very temporary. Very few tourists here spend any significant time in their rental home given the incredible Florida weather and outdoor activities and attractions here. If you ever wish to return, Id love to have you back and Im positive the construction will be finished.
Overall great experience
Had a great time in Sarasota. We live in Florida, only about 2 hours away but never spent any time here. Tom was great, very helpful and insightful about the surrounding area. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends/ family. The area was beautiful with lots to do. Overall great experience.
Very spacious and close to downtown
A wonderfully furnished, very spacious and comfortable apartment close to all the action in downtown Sarasota. Great landlord and easy to work with. Close to the marina and not far from the beaches and Armand's Circle. It was a lifesaver for us. You will thoroughly enjoy renting this apartment.
Wonderful central location. Located in Downtown Sarasota, walk to shops, restaurants, night clubs, coffee shops, cafes, and Marina Jack's. Very short drive over Ringling Bridge to St Armand's Circle and Lido Beach.
