Notes:
Pristine Crystal Lake, great fishing, golf, and breathtaking sunsets keep people returning to Beulah year round! The area offers a host of recreational opportunities with each changing season. The beach has several hundred feet of sandy shore, a beach house, tennis courts, a playground and parking. Swimming is great at the beach with its sandy bottom and safely marked swimming area. The boat launch is ample and well-maintained, providing access to Crystal Lake, Benzie County's largest and best-known lake. During the summer there are frequent "Music in the Park" evening concerts offered at no charge, as well as art fairs. Betsie Valley Trail - the bicycle trail runs between Frankfort and Thompsonville. From Frankfort the trail follows the Betsie River to the shores of Crystal Lake and on to the village of Beulah where a riders can rest in a new trail head building. Village shops offer plenty of shopping for the most unique items. Few places compare with the natural beauty of Beulah!

Lovely place to stay

  • 5 of 5

My family and I needed a place for 7 people to stay in the Benzonia area for 6 nights. If you don't book way in advance the pickings are very slim. However, this rental was a lovely surprise. I think many are deterred from it due to the no AC, but with windows open and fans going it wasn't really an issue. To be fair, our temperatures never went above 81 degrees during our stay.

This rental is on a hill and you right away feel like you are in a secluded area, but you're right off M-31, so you don't have to drive to no-mans-land to get that secluded feel. The view of Crystal Lake is gorgeous. The inside is very spacious. It felt like it hadn't been rented in a little while - maybe it doesn't in July due to higher temps. The house was clean and inviting. You could tell it was a former church (but that was part of the charm) that someone spent a nice amount of money on to renovate and redecorate. The full kitchen was mostly well stocked. There were plenty of linens and towels. The full size washer/dryer was a huge bonus as I hate going home to mounds of dirty laundry. The parking area was so nice and spacious - if you have kids with bikes, scooters or roller blades, they would be loving it. There is a game table that we used every single day. There is a very nice large flat screen TV. The wifi worked perfectly for us too.

I could probably give a few tiny negative points, but that would be so nit-picky, it's not even worth it.

Overall our family loved our stay and we would love to come back again. This area in Northern Michigan is gorgeous and this rental made our trip even better!

Spacious, Clean Home

  • 4 of 5

We greatly enjoyed our vacation in this home. The major con for us was that without air conditioning and temps in the 80's & 90's (which we were assured is very unusual), the house was hot & steamy a few days. We were impressed with the manager who called us to let us know the house was ready early, meet us on time, brought fans, and then later in the week responded quickly to replace a torn shower curtain.

A big positive is that the house is recently remodeled so it is clean with quality bedding & towels. With the LR so big, it was nice for our grandsons to have plenty of floor space to play with their toys (Matchbox cars on the ramp into the master suite a big hit!) while adults were in the seating area. Also, the master suite was separate from the other bedrooms which helped immensely since our daughter/son-in-law have a baby & 2 year old who are not all night sleepers.

We were super appreciative of the full size washer & dryer and having plenty of water for showers/baths after spending the day at the beach. Although there was some road noise, the view off the porch of the lake and surrounding area is beautiful & the little grandchildren loved watching the traffic, especially trucks, climb the hill. In addition, the boys enjoyed riding bikes around the house on the paved parking areas. Most attractions are only a 5-30 minute drive which made this a good location. Great ice cream treats are just down the hill at the Dairy King!

Very spacious home

  • 4 of 5

Traveled from Texas with my 6 siblings for Cherry Festival in Traverse City. We made breakfast in the home every morning, ran around all day in the perfect Michigan summer weather. It was so nice to come home to comfortable beds every evening. Watched fourth of July fireworks over the lake from the front patio.
