This custom designed house is located in a quiet neighborhood of Waikoloa Village on the Big Island of Hawaii. The house has three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a half bathroom, and an office which includes a daybed and can be used as a fourth bedroom.

The distinctive features of the house are clear-stained solid cedar walls and open beam ceilings which produce an expansive and airy effect in a floor plan that covers 2400 square feet under roof, including a large lanai. The house is comfortably furnished with predominantly Scandinavian-designed furniture. The interior decoration includes a large array of pictures and objects of art from Hawaii and California, as well as Japan, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Austria, Germany, Italy, Czech Republic and Russia. The yard is landscaped in a style with Japanese garden features.

Waikoloa Village is situated on the northwest side of the Big Island on the slopes above the famous Kohala Gold Coast resorts, white sand beaches and Championship golf courses. The Village is conveniently located within a 20 minute drive to the Big Island's most luxurious resorts (Mauna Kea Beach, Hapuna Beach Prince, Mauna Lani Bay, Hilton Waikoloa and the Fairmont Orchid) and to world class beaches (Mauna Kea Beach and Hapuna Beach). Recreational activities in the village include a famous 18-hole golf course, swimming pool, and tennis courts. The Village has a shopping complex with a full service market, service station, restaurants, banks and shops. Guests have free access to the swimming pool and tennis courts and can get discounted green fees for the par-72 Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed course.

No smoking, no pets property. 5 night minimum, 7 nights during Christmas.

Kona Coast Vacations manages over 200 condos, homes and estates along the leeward (dry and sunny) side of the Big Island ( this island is named Hawaii, same name as the State). We are located right in Kailua Kona which is about 10 minutes south of the KOA (Kona) international airport. Most people include Kailua Kona, Keauhou, Kahaluu, and Holualoa, under the umbrella of the name Kona. We also have team members living near the resort area ( about 25 minutes north of the airport) which include Mauna Kea, Mauna Lani, Hali'i Kai, Waikoloa Beach Resort (near the coast), Waikoloa Village (up mountain, about 15 minutes from the coast), etc.

Our team of inspectors check the property before your arrival, after you depart, and we inspect the cleaners. If something is amiss, please let us know immediately on arrival and we will address your concerns ASAP. We are open seven days a week to assist guests and owners. We offer a concierge service, we have maps and recommendations on our web site and are here to answer your questions.

We totally enjoyed our 2 stays at this beautiful home.It is very spacious and well designed.Great neighbors.View of ocean and mountian is exceptional. Owner has gone to great lenghts to insure that renters are satisfied in all respects.Location is only minutes from public access beaches of 5 star resorts.

Exceptional Home: So comfortable, Pristine and Well-Equipped

We are so very grateful to have had the opportunity to spend a month in this beautiful island home with our family (kids and grandkids). This truly is an exceptional home - every bit as beautiful as depicted in the pictures - and as important, it is extremely well-equipped with all the comforts of home; i.e., a lovely dining area, comfortable seating in the living room (with a big screen tv), spacious bedrooms and closets, and a laundry room with washer and dryer. The kitchen is fully supplied with dishes, pots and pans, utensils as well as an array of standard appliances (i.e., coffee pot, mixer, etc.). The ambiance of the interior of this home is enhanced by the owner's collection of beautiful decorative items such as vases, figurines etc; and lastly, it has a great deck that opens from both the living room and the master bedroom which served as a great gathering place for our family.

We were also delightfully surprised (and grateful) to find that the owner had supplied an array of beach items (boogie board, sand toys, beach towels and chairs, etc.). The beaches in the area are exceptional (Hapuna was one of our favorites); there are numerous excellent restaurants a short drive away; and it has easy access to many of the main sites and cities on the island such as the Mauna Kea, Waimea, Kona and the Kohala Coast. (Actually, none of the wonderful cities and sites such as Hilo, Volcano National Park and other interesting locations on the opposite coast, are very far away.)

Other neighborhood amenities that made our stay so enjoyable was the availability of a beautiful community pool, including a child's pool; great walking areas and for those who desire, a golf course and tennis courts. Conveniently, right next to the home is a basketball court (enjoyed by our son and grandson), a baseball field (good place for a morning jog) and a play yard for the little ones. Indeed, we were there for a month and had not one minute of boredom!

In summary, this was a dream vacation for our family, and we are ever grateful to the owners of this home for making it possible; and for suggestions of restaurants and island sites and activities. We also found Amy at KonaCoast Vacations very helpful when we had questions or needed assistance. Waikoloa Village is an exceptional place to stay during your Big Island vacation - and you will not be sorry if you make Hale O'Waikaloa your vacation home during your stay. It could not have been any better!!! We loved it!

Beautiful home in an excellent location! Close to many beautiful beaches and hiking adventures! The home was well stocked with everything you needed for both your stay and going to the beach! From this location we explored the entire island taking daily excursions to the Polulu Valley, the green sand beach near the South Point, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, and the Hawaiian Botanical Gardens north of Hilo. In between excursions we enjoyed our 15 minute car ride to Hapuna Beach. We found the home exactly as described in the on-line description. It is in a quiet neighborhood which suited us well. The home was clean and well maintained with plenty of cleaning supplies. I definitely recommend this home for families looking for a place to call home while exploring the Big Island!

Wonderful, relaxing vacation experience!

We stayed at Hale O' Waikaloa with our kids and extended family and had a wonderful time! The house was spacious and immaculate and we enjoyed beautiful sunsets and ocean and mountain views. The house comes fully equipped with everything one would ever need, including kitchen gadgets, beach towels, sand toys, boogie boards, etc. We spent the time relaxing at the beach and enjoyed coming back to a comfortable home where everyone could relax and spend time together eating dinner, playing cards and watching movies. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and perfect for morning or evening jogs. Grocery stores and restaurants are just a pleasant walk or quick drive away and the drive to the beach or nearby hotels has beautiful views of the ocean and stunning lava rock formations. Also, I prior to our arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to be contacted via email by an activities concierge who suggested various beaches and activities such as manta ray snorkeling and a visit to an octopus farm to enjoy during our stay. Although we didn't have time to take advantage of this, the neighborhood also has a community pool and tennis court that is open to guests staying at the house. We had such a wonderful time here and can't wait to come back again! There is much more of this part of the island that we would love to explore. This house is perfect for families with or without kids, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Big Island.
