Mid Century Beach Bungalow in fabulous South Oceanside. This beach house is west of the Pacific Coast Highway and just steps to the private and beautiful beach of South Oceanside. Walk to an abundance of restaurants and cafes. There is no need to drive anywhere once you arrive at the destination! 1 bedroom and bath with large backyard, BBQ and well equipped kitchen. A perfect place to vacation!
I am an native of Northern California and owner of a swimwear company. We live the beach life and love the San Diego area. We bought this vacation home so we could be closer to San Diego and all it has to offer.
Corinne White purchased this house in 2014
Walking location to beach, organic grocery store and restaurants. 1 mile from Carlsbad Village. A short 5 minute walk to the beach.
Owner if easily reachable and responsive to needs. Short walk to the beach. Quiet, neighborhood. Near restaurants. Definitely would like to stay here again
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, wonderfully refurbished beach bungalow. All the rooms were comfortably furnished. It was within walking distance of the beach, great restaurant/bars and shops. The rental price was very reasonable and we would definitely rent it again.
This property was great for my family -- daughter, son-in-law, grandson, and my self. My 3 year old grandson was delighted with the trains coming by so close to the house. Kitchen was well stocked. Lots of noise in back as they are building a couple of large buildings directly in back of the property. -- hopefully the owners will replace the glass in the bathroom window with something other than clear glass. There was a problem with ants coming in to the house. Property manger was a great help.
Overall the experience was great. The home was exactly what we wanted except for one little thing. It sits about a few hundred yards from a train track. It wasn't at a crossing where the trains are required to sound their horns, but you definitely know its there.
It is super close to the beach. Probably a short 10 minute walk if you illegally walk over the train tracks(which it seems like everyone does) or 15 minutes if you went to the crossing. The beach was amazing.
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay. When I want another weekend getaway from the city, I'm definitely staying here again.
The well equipped kitchen is a plus for those who want to prepare some meals during their stay. The furniture is a bit outdated, but was very adequate for a weeks stay.
The train and train horn in close proximity didn't bother us, but could if someone was more sensitive to that noise.
Overall it is a pleasant little house with more pluses than minuses. 👍𣐊
Corinne was a God-send! She was sweet enough to take a last minute reservation from us as I was having a heck of a time finding anyone who would rent their home to a couple with 2 dogs AND 2 cats and I found her bungalow at the last minute! The bungalow itself was perfect as it had everything you could possible need during your stay - all linens and towels were provided, and a FULLY stocked kitchen. The back yard is completely fenced in and due to the drought, it is more dirt than grass but the dogs were able to run around safely. The bed was comfortable and so were the pillows but beware if you are allergic to down feathers - down comforter and down pillows! It took me 2 nights to figure out what my problem was. LOL! The bungalow is very spacious on the inside. It has a nice living room, a giant round table in the dining room, and an office area overlooking the front yard (which by the way was the most green grass I have seen since moving to CA!) The bedroom has a dresser and a good-sized closet with hangers provided. And she let us use her supplies including laundry detergent and dryer sheets, coffee filters, and garbage bags. We stayed for the whole month of December and it truly felt like home as we waited for the closing of our new house. Location was perfect as you exit the 5 at Exit 51C and the road will basically dead end in front of the bungalow. Walking distance to Carlsbad and we loved taking the dogs out towards the beach. Also loved dining at Don's Country Kitchen which is walking distance from the bungalow. A special shout out to the Property Manager Andrea who was always there to help with any request we had – even able to recommend a good nail salon when I needed one! In conclusion, anyone that rents this place from Corinne will not be disappointed. We would definitely recommend this bungalow to anyone looking for a place to stay in Oceanside.
