Secluded Right On the Water, Huge Screened in Porches, dock on the Bay.
About John Arnold
I bought the land in 2012 and completed the property by the end of 2013. I also own property in Taos NM. My main residence is in Grapevine TX. I love both the mountains and the island and feel very fortunate to be able to enjoy both.
John Arnold purchased this House in 2013
Why John Arnold chose Plantation
This place is very unique in that its not over developed. Im learning all about living on the water and the wildlife in the area. the views speak for themselves
What makes this House unique
Quiet and uncrowded, i could spend hours on the porches looking over the bay.

Great place for sunsets and families w kids
We truly enjoyed our stay. The sunsets!! Wow! The walk to the beach isn’t bad. The dock is so nice. We tied our boat and jet ski up to it- no problem w shallow water during our visit.
The house is not truly 5 bedrooms ~More like 3 masters and 2 rooms w beds. It worked perfectly for our family. The owner was very accessible and responsive.
We will be back!
The house was great!
We had a great trip. The house was perfect. Everyone was comfortable. Caught a lot of fish. The dock was perfect and had no problem with the tides. Can’t wait to go back
Fantastic Views! Easy walk to the beach. Caught a ton of fish off the dock. Thank you for a great vacation!
Great house, spectacular view
Very nice house, everything worked, elevator was convenient.
Spectacular view of the sound, completely private, lots of room, plenty of parking.
John very responsive when contacted; helped us navigate entertainment system and when septic system alarm sounded he contacted his service company immediately..
Just one caveat; Dock is beautiful for sunbathing, sunset viewing etc., but when I was there tides did not allow use by anything deeper draft than a kayak. There is a good public ramp at the base of the bridge.
It is shallow on the back side of the island in cooler winter months.
Shallow draft is required. If a cold front comes through (high pressure) it can get very shallow.
That being said Ive been in and out from the dock every month of the year. Draft on my boat is 6 inches.
Spring summer and fall have higher tides all the way around.
Wonderful location and house
The location of the house is great, in a gated natural environment where houses are not that close to each other as often happens on Florida beaches. The house is extremely private and from windows and porches you only see water and nature-- no other houses. The house is well appointed in terms of furniture, and beds are very comfortable. The outside porches are great! The host, Arnold, was very kind and prompt in responding to our needs. The reason why I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the house is effectively a 3 bedroom house, since the 2 other bedrooms are essentially closets--uncomfortable to sleep in them. There is a second smaller living room with 2 sleeper sofas, but one was not working. I am sure Arnold will fix that. Additionally, house supplies may need some attention: for example, not enough plates for 10 people. This remains a wonderful property, highly recommended, and we may be back at some point!
Paradise with a porch!
The house is just as shown in the photos. The view is tranquil and lovely throughout the day. It is a short, easy walk to the Gulf beach, but that porch surrounding the house provides a vista that far surpasses a Gulf view. Birds frequent the area, and a Bald Eagle perched outside for a while. Even on a rainy day - and we had a torrential rain one day - the porches were a lovely way to spend the day outdoors. We hope to stay again, and will bring kayaks and paddleboard to further explore the Sound.
St George Island Plantation is a really nice community and is very secluded, quiet and well kept.
My place is directly across the Bay from the histroic town of Apalachicola.
The beach is very nice and uncrowded.
You will definately feel like your removed from traffic and noise.
This area is known as the forgotten coast.
World class fishing and beach.
The Bay is very pretty and full of wildlife.
