Overview

About the property

4+ bedrooms, family room, pool table, outdoor deck, grill & beautiful sunsets

This home is away from it all and it feels very secluded. You don't see other homes from our house. But it's just a few minutes away from an awesome BBQ joint; the Omega Institute; and the Schultzville General Store.

You enter the property by driving down a long driveway of .25 miles. Once inside the house, you're in the main living area which functions as a sitting area, dining area and open plan kitchen. The pool room is to the back of the main living area, and it leads to an expansive outdoor deck.

One bedroom is on the ground floor, past the full bathroom.

A stairway leads upstairs where you'll find three bedrooms and a bathroom.

Downstairs is a basement which has been converted into a den, mostly used by our children. The den leads to a back yard with a massive stone grill, large enough to cook a pig.

You can explore the outdoor space which extends past the lawn into the woods.

About Zvia Schoenberg

We are a family of four with two young children living in Brooklyn. We come to the house at least once each month year-round.

Zvia Schoenberg purchased this house in 2014

Why Zvia Schoenberg chose Hudson Valley

What we love about the Hudson Valley and this house in particular is the feeling of getting away from our daily life, while having amenities close by. There are cultural festivals year-round; movie theaters; kids performances; sports events (cycling and running races, for example); wonderful restaurants (many headed by CIA grads); and an abundance of nature for hikes, runs and walks.

What makes this house unique

We created a place where we could spend the weekend at the house without leaving, if that's how we were feeling. The pool table and the kids basement are great retreats, as are the front and back porches. We love hearing the farm animals next door, and we often have birds come to our front porch to visit the bird feeder.

Nice family friendly home

  • 5 of 5

House is cozy and charming. Property itself is huge - lots of room for kids to run.

Nice location not far from Rhinebeck, which is a charming town.

We had an enjoyable stay with 3 couples, 3 toddlers and 3 babies.

Wifi worked perfectly.

A beautifully secluded property with plenty of room and activities for groups.

  • 5 of 5

Zvia's house was a perfect launching point for a round of sporting clays at Orvis Sandanona (25 min away). There was ample room for grilling and outdoor games. Bathrooms are gorgeous and the bedrooms are large and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I stayed here for President's Day weekend and the experience could not have been any better. The house was welcoming, clean, and cozy; not to mention very private. The owner was quick to respond to any questions we had and was incredibly accommodating to our group's needs. I would highly recommend this rental for groups of any size. We can't wait to stay here again!!!

It is a great property to totally check out and relax. It's a quiet log cabin with a nice fireplace and game room for fun activities. It's also close to Rhinebeck where you can enjoy a little shopping and great eating.

Great cabin for large group

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I rented this cabin for 16 of us over New Years and it was great! We were all able to fit since we were fine sleeping on air mattresses (4 really fancy ones are provided!) and sharing rooms. The open floor plan of the first floor, including the kitchen, dining room, living room, and game room, made it easy for all of us to hang out around the house and not feel cramped. One thing to note is that since it is a log cabin, there is not much sound insulation and noise does carry throughout the house.
