Loved the view of the lake! Needs some TLC though.

The proximity of this house to Lake Pend O'reille is perfect! The dock and swimming/floating in the water was also a blast... the kids were in the water till sunset every night. Although, this house is up for sale, it does needs some TLC - boat lift didn't work, broken closet doors, no dressers in one bedroom, weird bathroom smell in downstairs bedroom and NO CURTAINS on any windows but the master loft. The train also runs ON schedule close by twice a day and the landscaping below needs some trimming (ew - black widow spiders!).

No wi-fi was also an issue for some of us that still had to work remotely.

I don't want to sound negative because we really did have a good time and met some great neighbors who let our kids jump off their diving board multiple times. So glad we brought our own camp chairs and bluetooth speaker to use on the deck and dock by the water.

Good cabin - some recommendations

  • 3 of 5

Overall we had a great time. The location of the cabin was perfect and the layout was perfect for entertaining. We were able to get into and out of Sandpoint without issue. The pictures are a little misleading as to how difficult it is to get to water from the cabin - this made it a bit difficult as one of the members of our party is disabled.

We had issues with the television (who cares about a TV at a lake cabin? I get it). After a long day on the water we wanted to unwind and watch the news or a ballgame and were unable to do so. The property manager came by and identified a faulty HDMI port on the TV (TV was older and not high def). He replaced it and we had TV for about half a day, but the problem persisted and we threw in the towel. Some other suggestions for the owner:

The outlet on the wall opposite the dining set doesn't work.

There were no pads for the Swiffer and the handle was broken.

The fridge doesn't get very cold.

Some curtains are desperately needed. It was light at 4 am and we all had issues sleeping because there was no way to shield the light.

The pantry items are getting old.

Again, we had a very memorable week and I hope the suggestions above are not taken as an overall indictment of the property.

Better than expected

  • 4 of 5

It was our second time in Sandpoint and first time renting a house. The pictures don't do it justice. It was a beautiful home for our family of 6 to spend our holiday in. It was after hours when we arrived and just as instructed, the keys to the house and directions to get there were exactly where we were told they would be for an after hours arrival. We spent most of our time in the water swimming. As there is no beach on this property, it was a short drive when the kids wanted to play in the sand. Our 4 kids had a blast! Thank you so much!!!! We will be back!!
