Located in the gated community of Starwood, in the very northeast corner of Pinetop, this vacation retreat is about as close to the Tonto National Forest as you can get, while still maintaining the safety and security of a gated community. Literally walk to the entrance of the forest in minutes.
As you enter this summer getaway, through the nearly 4’ wide ponderosa pine door, you are surrounded by exquisite knotty pine floors. Explore the light and airy open floor plan with soaring 20’ ceilings with wood planking and crown molding. Professionally decorated with many locally sourced pieces of furniture and artwork, this home offers a truly exceptional mountain home vacation experience.
The great room has a stone faced gas fireplace, and sofas, love seats and couches abound, offering comfortable, relaxing seating while enjoying a fire, reading a book, listening to music or watching TV.
Enjoy sharing meals at the large oval wood dining table, or the granite breakfast bar. The large and open kitchen is set up wonderfully, and the wood cabinets, stainless steel appliances and granite countertops set the scene for wonderful gatherings.
Fully equipped kitchen includes electric cooktop, oven, microwave, fridge / freezer, dishwasher, and all the necessary small appliances as well, including coffee maker, toaster, blender, can opener, etc. Dishes, spices plates glasses, utensils and cookware round out the kitchen. If outdoor cooking is your choice, enjoy the 6 burner grill on the back patio.
The cable and internet equipped Wi-Fi system enables you to surf the internet for work or pleasure. All rooms have flat screen TV’s, and the Family room, Master bedroom and Den have DVD players as well. The Family room sound system in Bluetooth enabled, so listening to your favorite music is a breeze.
Other amenities include ceiling fans throughout, dimmers, and central heating and air conditioning for those rare days when the afternoon temp gets a bit warm.
A half bath is conveniently located off of the kitchen. A laundry room with full size washer and dryer is there for your use as well.
Our home to set up to sleep 10 comfortably, the spacious master sleeps two, the bedrooms and den/4the bedroom are able to sleep a total of 8, with the brand new La-Z-Boy couch in the den converting to a queen sleeper sofa - sealy matress that is very comfortable. All of the bedrooms have large openable windows to catch those summer breezes at night, and have flat screen TV’s for entertainment or relaxing.
The master suite is truly a spacious retreat, the intimate sitting area includes an overstuffed couch and chair, perfect for curling up with a good book. The mini fridge lets you enjoy your favorite beverage, and the coffee maker has that first pot ready when you get up. Open its own door to the deck to catch those summer breezes.
The Master bath has his and hers vanities, with jetted tub, separate shower and toilet room. Relax with an afternoon or evening soak in the jetted tub, then wake up with a brisk shower. The large master closet has plenty of room for your belongings.
Enjoy the expansive back deck with lots of seating, a heater and large propane grille. Relax on the grassy area, enjoy lunch on the picnic table, or take in a game of horseshoes or badminton. Then curl up for a snooze in the hammock. Watch summer storms build in the morning, then enjoy a refreshing rain in the afternoon while the temperature drops.
For a more intimate outdoor experience, take in the cozy front deck, looking out onto the professionally landscaped yard, and enjoy watching the world go by.
Amenities in the summer abound, golf and more golf is available, with the Pinetop lakes public course a 5 minute drive away. Other things to do in the area include Horseback riding / rentals, Mountain biking (rentals available in Pinetop), Hiking, bird watching, and exploring the forest service roads via car, truck or ATV.
For those “In town” experiences, restaurants abound, and there are movie theaters, the Hun-Dah Casino to the east, and lots of little shops and stores all along highway 260.
During the summer there are art and music festivals of one type or another almost every weekend. Especially fun is the Charlie Clarks apple orchard festival in July.
If winter activities are your thing, of course skiing at Sunrise is the best. A large, open area, runs are available for every level of skier from beginner to black diamond. Lessons are available of starters, and the lodge offer good food and drink as well. Other adventures include sledding snowshoeing and snowmobiling. If you just like the snow, have a snowball fight at the house(outside please!)
