Our home is perched upon the mountain providing complete privacy as well as spectacular views of Mt. Sopris and the Roaring Fork Valley.

The wrap around deck, complete with outdoor fireplace, sitting area, dining table, face Mt. Sopris. It is an ideal place to sit and have a cup of coffee in the morning, enjoy a nice meal at night, or wind down with a beverage in front of the fire during cool Colorado evenings. Feel like you are on top of the world with the best views in the valley.

This private home has 3 bedrooms. The master suite (on the main floor) has a private master bath with, two separate sinks, hot tub, and a sauna/steam shower. The 2nd Bedroom has a queen bed and crib and 3rd bedroom has two twin beds. These two bedrooms are located downstairs and share a full bathroom and a den/playroom with TV.

The house also contains a private office which has a pull out couch, a desk if you must get some work done, and is directly across from a full bathroom. The first floor has an open floor plan with a gourmet kitchen equipped with commercial grade equipment, dining room and family room. The kitchen and walk in pantry have everything a chef could need from a vitamix to a lobster pot, as well as an outdoor gas grill. The family room has vaulted ceilings, an enormous stone fireplace (with an extensive wood supply), and gorgeous views of Sopris. The dining room has a beautiful table that seats 10. We also have a fold up table and chairs for a larger group meal. This home is warm and comfortable with plenty of seating for relaxing with friends and family while enjoying the spectacular views.

This mountain home is a one of kind home that will make you feel on top of the world, completely private and secluded, yet close enough to Carbondale, Snowmass, and Glenwood Springs that you can be a part of the action in no time.

We know you will love it as much as we do.

Excellent hiking and biking trails are all minutes away.

Trout fishing is available on 3 gold medal rivers…the Frying Pan, Roaring Fork and Crystal rivers.

The location is a golfer’s paradise as high-altitude golfing is one of the great summer pastimes in the Roaring Fork Valley, which is home to several famously-designed courses at relatively reasonable prices.

The Roaring Fork Valley has long been a mini-Mecca for biking nuts as trails have expanded widely in the past few years.

Some of the most scenic horseback riding opportunities are available as well as outfitters that cater to all different skill levels.

Whitewater rafting is available up and down the valley.

SUP Paddle Boarding is available ten minutes away

The world famous Glenwood Springs Hot Springs Pool, which is open year round, is just 12 miles away.

Enjoy a bike path 5 minutes away that runs from Carbondale to Aspen or to Glenwood Springs

Beyond our expectations!

  • 5 of 5

Our experience at JBar III was positively glowing. It is a stunning log home with gorgeous views of Mt Sopris from the lovely backyard deck. We loved eating outside, enjoying the mountain views, and taking short drives to Aspen, Snowmass, and Glenwood Springs. We have 3 children who adored watching the backyard chickens and playing in the backyard and the sand box. Our girls (8 and 5) loved the room downstairs with 2 twin beds, it is a little girls' heaven, decorated in white and green and even some doll furniture. Our baby slept in the other room downstairs which was equipped with a real crib (Not a pack and play!) and a video monitor already mounted on the wall! I cannot say enough how helpful the owner Jimmy was in making sure everything was ready for our stay. He let my girls be very involved in gathering eggs from the chickens during our stay, which was a HUGE hit for them! The house is well equipped for kids of all ages, with games, a fantastic back yard, and Jim even got a high chair out for us. We had a lovely, relaxing time and hope we can return again. Thanks again Jimmy for sharing your exquisite home and making our stay just wonderful! Lisa & Ben and family

The best of the west!

  • 5 of 5

We hoped to show our friends from Sweden the beauty of the Rocky Mountains and give them a bit of western flavor. The JbarIII certainly filled the bill. The log house is both stunning and comfortable. Mt. Sopris fills the view from the living room and the setting is lovely in every direction. It is a treat to start the day with fresh eggs, and coffee on the expansive deck gets our vote for happiest morning routine. It's a short drive to Carbondale (try the White House pizza), Aspen, and Glenwood Springs, and skiing, hiking, hot springs, and many wonderful restaurants. Perfect!

We would love to come back!

Peaceful comfortable and quiet retreat

  • 5 of 5

We spent a few nights over the holidays with 5 kids and were very comfortable and warm. Skied in Snowmass and Aspen. A little bit of a drive but not too bad. Kids had fun with the chickens and we all enjoyed fresh eggs. Carbondale is close by and is a cute town. We would stay here again.

Thank you!

Total Paradise!

  • 5 of 5

This house was amazing! Even better than the pictures. Not only is it gorgeous but it just feels so comfortable. The kitchen has absolutely everything you could need and sitting in the gorgeous family room with the fire looking out at Sopris was heaven. The added bonus was the farm fresh eggs left for us! So delicious! I would absolutely rent this house again. Thanks for sharing your home with us, Jim!

Our time spent at the Ranch was most rewarding! It was our first time in the area, so we didn't know what really to expect. We were having good friends in from Wisconsin for a fly fishing trip and we wanted to show them the time of their life fishing on the Roaring fork, Frying Pan and the Colorado Rivers. There couldn't be a better place to unwind after a day of fishing than at the Ranch. Jim, the owner described his wonderful log home perfectly. It has the most spacious deck facing Mt Sopris where every night we watched the sunset on the mountain with a glass of wine and talked about our day of fishing and sightseeing. The gourmet kitchen fit us to a Tee as we all like to cook and enjoyed using all of their wonderful appliances and utensils. The master suite has a spacious whirlpool tub for soaking after a day on the water. The Ranch is located about two miles off the highway and is close to all the sites of the area. In the morning we saw deer and in the evenings we would see wild turkeys, so there is plenty of wildlife in the area. Even though we did not have any children along, the Ranch would be an excellent retreat for families. The Ranch house easily sleeps six people comfortably and is large enough for separate privacy, if desired. Every day, Jim would provide us with fresh eggs from his flock of laying hens. The experience was as advertised and we would highly recommend staying at the Ranch to anyone looking for a relaxing time away; in fact, we enjoyed ourselves so much that we are thinking about a return visit in the near future.
