Welcome to our GuestHouse! PointBreezeway has been housing guests for years as a tea room, tavern (then speakeasy!) and neighborhood gathering space. Our guesthouse sits as a separate suite next-door to a charming, intimate event venue: PointBreezeway. We are very community--conscious and our events are simply sweet and tasteful gatherings! If you stay with us over a weekend, especially April-October, you're likely to observe a small shower, party or wedding. These events typically do not start earlier than 10am or end later than 11pm.
Through a separate entrance at street level, you stroll upstairs to enter our 4-room suite. Your private space is best described as a suite, not an entire home. It is a separate apartment without a full kitchen.
* The suite has an open floor plan. There is a semi-loft on the upper floor as well as a full bed on the main floor. These areas are separated by stairs, not doors.*
- Main Floor : private bathroom, walk-in closet/kitchenette combo, large walk through sleeping/sitting room.
- Steps to Upper Floor : semi loft bedroom (no door).
- Bed Sizes : Main Floor (full bed), Upper Floor (queen bed).
- Single Foldout Mattress included.
- Please inquire about full kitchen privileges if needed.
There is a small cat (Leon) and dog (Riley aka Peaches) on the property that are kept in a separate area. They are available for entertainment upon request!
Plenty of on-street parking right in front of the building!
We ask that noise be kept to a respectful minimum after 10pm.
Point Breeze is Pittsburgh's best kept secret! Take a long walk in Frick Park. Have a delicious meal at Point Brugge or Pino's. Grab a (Point Breeze themed) sandwich at the historic Frick Park Market then take a tour of the Clayton Mansion/The Frick Art Museum and much more! We are located minutes from universities, the Pittsburgh Zoo and fantastic East End neighborhoods.
There is a bus line in front of the property that is in walking distance to the east busway to downtown Pittsburgh.
For 25 years I've hosted guests and gatherings. My current role as innkeeper allows me to continue this tradition for anyone in the world who needs or wishes to enjoy it. I look forward to hosting your stay.
Dennis Inserra purchased this apartment in 2000
After 10 years as a renter in this multi-use building, buying it from a prior Point Breeze notable family gave me an opportunity to continue to use the house in greater ways as a guest/gathering spot.
The feel of the Appalachian foothills in the midst of town.
My friend and I went to Pittsburgh to visit her son at school. The property is beautifully situated - convenient with easy on-street parking. The neighborhood is great. The rooms were clean and well-maintenance. Our host was extremely helpful and most willing to provide information about the city and the neighborhood . He also made sure we were comfortable in the lodging. He was there when we arrived and saw us off. Good wifi and tv. Very comfortable. I'd go back. But this is not a place for people who have trouble with stairs. Great place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Pittsburgh. Instantly felt comfortable at the Point Breeze property. Dennis was very accommodating and friendly. The rooms were clean, comfortable and all that we needed was provided. Highly recommend you visit Pittsburgh and stay at Point Breezeway. Tons of things to do and see and a comfortable place to relax at the end of the day. You will be happy you did.
Stayed here to go to US Open. Good location in beautiful old neighborhood. Room was clean, bed comfortable. If you are looking for luxury, look elsewhere but if you are ok with the basics, this is a fair price for a place to sleep.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the studio suite at PointBreezeway. The Innkeeper Dennis is probably one of the nicest and most accomodating gentlemen we have ever met. He operates a lovely cafe with an adjoining patio where we enjoyed a glass of wine each evening. The studio apartment is close to the universities, Frick Park, the zoo and aquarium. Perfect accomodations for two people, clean and comfortable, you won't believe you are in the middle of the city!!!. Point Breeze has lovely old homes and seems like a very friendly neighborhood; people walking with their children and dogs, bicycling, enjoying the summer evenings. Parking on the street next to the cafe was not a problem in this friendly neighborhood. We dined at Point Bruegge, which is close by, you must try the mussels, they are wonderful and plentiful!!!!
The description is accurate. The property is clean and well maintained. The owner provided excellent service, and I would recommend this property to friends and relatives.
We visited for a long weekend. Dennis was a fabulous host, full of information about the history of Point Breeze and the surrounding area. The place is centrally situated, making it easy to get to almost anyplace in Pittsburgh quickly. The immediate area, including Frick Park, is extremely walkable, and there is tons to see.
The room is a two room suite, connected by French doors. There is a TV, a fridge, a toaster oven and a microwave. Dennis provides the basics- dish soap, towels, linens, paper plates, and even coffee. The beds are futons and one has a temperpedic mattress. The main drawback is that the windows do not keep out the noise - it can be a bit noisy with the street traffic. It is a very ecclectic property and a great find for your visit to Pittsburgh. We will definately go back again.
