About Jay Simpson
My wife and I both work at Research Triangle Park located in Raleigh, NC. We live in Raleigh as well. We are in the telecommunications industry and transit industry. We love spending time vacationing at the water with our family and friends.
Jay Simpson purchased this House in 2006
Why Jay Simpson chose Roper
Not many people are as in turn with the inner banks (IBX) of NC as they are with the Outer Banks (OBX), which we all know has the Ocean and beach. The IBX has accessible water for boating, fishing, swimming, pier activity, and beautiful water views, with green grass leading up to the water and a very unique aspect of SHADE near the waterline. Trees line the bulkhead just feet away from the water. So, you can sit in the shade and enjoy the breeze of the wind and view of the water.
What makes this House unique
Large private lot (2/3 acre) Not crowded like other vacation locations Views of the water directly Access to the water directly Boating Fishing access Shade and more.

Great vacation spot
We rented the house for the weekend while in town for a wedding. It was the perfect — very relaxing, everything you would need, and great communication with the owners. Our little one was six months old and loved swimming in the sound. We will definitely book again!
Great house on the Inner Banks.
We booked the house for a bunch of Cyclists doing a 3 day event in Edenton. Even though we arrived focused on cycling we were immediately charmed by the house and all the extra fun stuff available to any vacationer. We brought our own bikes....but if you wanted to ride there are all shapes and sizes of bikes for kids and adults. Wished we had more time to use the kyack, lounge on the hammock and relax on the sun deck. The trip into Edenton was about 20 minutes and some folks made a day trip to Kitty Hawk...enjoy!
Great Place to Stay
Good communication with Jay, great place to stay.
Wonderful waterfront home with exceptional views of the sound!
This home on Cypress Shores was more than our family could ask for in terms of space, serenity and cleanliness. It is very well equipped for entertaining larger groups. Plenty of kitchen furnishings and seating. Gameroom with multi- arcade game with all the games from the 80s and a PS2 were major hits with our crew. The adults spent majority of stay enjoying fishing from the dock. Plenty of lifejackets for added safety in the garage, along with dozens of bikes, fishing gear, croquet and more arcade games. Smart TVs in every room, only downside for kids was lack of channels, but Netflix and hundreds of movies to entertain! Lawn was very well manicured and optional flood lighting in the evening was an added bonus! For anyone staying to fish: fish were plentiful, caught tons of croaker, white bass and nice sized catfish. Had a few crabs in the traps, with a few keepers. Mr. Simpson called the evening of checkin to make sure everything went well.
Great waterfront location, calm, peaceful, relaxing.
Great cozy property on the inner banks. Jay the owner was very helpful and straightforward about the property and answering questions. Spacious house with a game room, great dock to swim and fish from, and a great getaway to relax!
