Mid-century Modern House Overlooking Lake Travis

Bedrooms 3
Space 2,600 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 30 nights

About the property

3 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom with Lake View

Enjoy a fabulous, west (sunset) view of Lake Travis and the hills beyond (with your dog!) from two decks at my inviting 2600 square foot single story Mid-Century Modern Lakeway home. Ideally located on 0.6 acres across from and above an undeveloped City park, my house has a fenced yard surrounded by gorgeous trees. You would be three minutes from the Lakeway Spa and Resort and Lakeway Marina and slightly farther from the beautiful Hamilton Greenbelt hiking Trail.

The open living area, which maximizes the view, includes the living room, dining room and kitchen - all in one great room with exposed beam, vaulted ceiling and wet bar. Watch sports or a movie on the new 50 inch LCD/HD TV, via cable or enjoy streaming via Wi-Fi. Ceiling fans and large, windows in all rooms. The large Master Bedroom has a new King-sized bed, new linens and "his and hers" areas in the Master Bath. The two additional spacious bedrooms sport 2 new queen sized beds, new linens and each has its own full ensuite bathroom.

All the comforts of home are provided; washer and dryer, electric range, dishwasher, disposal, central air and heat. Enormous 2 1/2 car garage. Handicapped accessible.

About Tara Hunt

I'm a semi-retired Jersey Girl who loves Texas. I spent 25 years in NYC, Dallas, Chicago and London in Trading Rooms, meetings and on airplanes, mostly while talking on the phone or texting on my Blackberry. Now, thankfully, I own a small local business and spend as much of my time traveling around Texas (and sometimes beyond), on my dual sport motorcycle or locally, via hiking or kayaking.

Tara Hunt purchased this house in 2014

Why Tara Hunt chose Lakeway

I love architecture and water views. (I grew up near the New Jersey Shore). The unique characteristics of the house (Flying Buttresses - like Notre Dame (only steel)!, combined with the opportunity to continue to work to restore and enhance its multitude of virtues convinced me straight away that I had to buy it.

What makes this house unique

The House has beautiful lake views from a cliff side vantage point on a very private cul de sac street. 30 minutes from Austin.

Great room, Great Fun

  • 4 of 5

This mid-century modern house was perfect for our large family. Lots of room for card games, meals, easy conversations. Kitchen was well-stocked. Easy trash station access and parking for 4+ cars. The porch as a slight view of the lake. We rented a boat at the nearby marina. Most beds got comfy reviews. Lots of towels. Our favorite memory was meeting a delightful U.S. Air Force veteran in the neighborhood who tipped us off on the Fourth of July parade. Our short walk to the country club perimeter was rewarded with a cheery patriotic parade. There were more parade members than fans, I think. All the better. We walked off with some impressive swag - candy, bouncy balls, coupons, even roses. We were grinning big - feeling like adopted Lakeway residents.

Great place to stay with awesome lake view!

  • 5 of 5

Our family loved staying at this house. It was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed for a relaxing, memorable vacation. Tara was also great to work with and easily provided us with all the information we needed. The neighborhood was quiet, and we loved sitting outside on the porch in the mornings and evenings. I would highly recommend this house, and we would love to return.

This property has an EXCELLENT location to the marina, just literally 3 minutes away, right around the corner. The house had everything we needed, i loved having all the Queen beds and each bedroom has its own bathroom!! The house is VERY VERY CLEAN and well maintained, and it was fun enjoying the decor! The owner was VERY easy to work with and very helpful and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again!

A great find!

  • 5 of 5

This terrific property is everything the writeup advertises and more. The decks and patios have beautiful lake views, plenty of outdoor seating (both covered and open). There are lake views from several of the rooms including the master bedroom. The fenced yard is fantastic if you have a dog. The parking, as other reviewers have said, is extraordinary for Lakeway! Plenty of it, easy in and out. There are a lot of stairs from the street level up to the entrance but there is also the option to come up a driveway and park on that level for guests who have limitations. The home is located on a dead end street and you have total peace and quiet with almost zero visibility of neighbors on either side. At the end of the block, you can tiptoe through an opening in the hedges of the lovely Lakeway Inn for drinks and meals.

Tara is incredibly responsive so you can lock in your plans quickly. Her check in and check out procedures are quick and easy. She has done a marvelous job updating and decorating the place in keeping with the mid-Century style of the home, adding fresh and fun furniture and great lighting. Towels and linens are new and fresh as advertised.

A great experience! Would highly recommend.

This house was simply fabulous!!! Great parking, gorgeous view, and a gracious host. My favorite part was having 2 queen beds in each of the spare bedrooms and each bedroom having it's very own bathroom. The layout was perfect for entertaining, cooking, and serving dinner. I had my sister and nieces in from Australia for my mother's 90th birthday party and they were VERY pleased with the arrangement of the house and the easy atmosphere. Sitting on the deck overlooking Lake Travis every evening was peaceful, serene, and beautiful.......thank you Tara, for sharing your home with my family, you were wonderful!!!

Wonderful place to stay

  • 5 of 5

The owner was very extremely friendly. The place comfortably fit a family of 10, with a nice fenced area for our dog to run around in. The amenities were amazing, anywhere from abundant of clean towels to charcoal for the grill. The view of the lake was amazing during sunset. Would highly recommend this place.
