The livingroom opens to its full width towards the large west-facing balcony, which is bathed in sun till sunset and you have the morning sun directly on the smaller balcony in front of one of the bedrooms - so when the sun shines in Copenhagen, this is the place to be. The house also has a big common terasse with grill and sitting facilities. In evenings people mostly enjoy sitting on the quai along the Canal.
There are wonderfull restaurants (Noma, worlds best), bars and shops all around the neighborhood. Electric bicycles for rent 2 min away. 5 min to Holmen with all the Art-schools, the Opera, the Hose of Architecture. 2 min to Metro 10 minutes to Beach and 15 min to Airport. Take the bike and enjoy the nature of Christiania and have a look at all the small selfmade Houses along the waterfront mixed with old buildings from 17-18 th century.

When I first saw this appartment I fell totaly in love with it, even if I had another, twice the size, on the other side of Christianshavn and so I waited until it became vacant...
As mentioned by others, this is a great location right on the canal of Christianshavn. Also an easy walk to Nyhavn, where you can enjoy the great restaurants and get on the 48 hour hop on / hop off boat and bus tours which is a great way to get around and see the city. The apartment is sun filled and clean, and we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony, enjoying coffee and people watching. Malene was great – she had fresh flowers for us, spent time acclimating us to the area, and even made a special trip back when we requested extra linens.
Our only complaint is that the unit definitely needs updating. We didn’t mind the décor, which one could describe as “shabby chic,” but the bathroom is especially dated and not comfortable in terms of showering or bathing. The furniture in the living room and balcony are very dated and not especially well made. The laundry facility is in a separate until altogether, and you have to “sign up” for dates/times to use the washer and dryer. The apartment is well secured, but there is no lighting in the entryway when you come in during the evening which we found to be problematic.
All in all, I would recommend the apartment for all of its positive qualities. But if you are someone that expects everything to be just so and in great condition, this may not be the place for you.
Excellent location, near buses and the Metro, beautiful scenery on a canal, very safe neighborhood. We slept with the windows open and listened to church bells. Best is Malene who is hospitality personified, provides annotated maps of the area, restaurant recommendations, and transit info.
The title of the review says it all! Malene's apartment is relaxing (sitting on the balcony watching life in Copenhagen), happy (lots of sunlight and colorful decor, especially the main bedroom walls!), comfortable (we felt at home) and convenient (metro and ferry bus 1-2 blocks from apartment, food stores and restaurants in the neighborhood). The apartment is in a walkable location to everything you need and want to see and do.
My wife and I spent 2 weeks at Malene's and truly enjoyed it. She has thought of everything - hooks for coats/robes/towels, electricity adapters, hair dryer, map of stores and restaurants in the neighborhood, toiletries, laundry/dish/bath soap, etc) - so that we would be comfortable. There is a washer and dryer onsite; a must for a long stay such as ours. It's a charming apartment, and the best part is that Malene truly wants you to enjoy it and Copenhagen, and she helps with any questions or information you need. We'd love to stay here again should our travels allow us to return.
Malene was very helpful and a really interesting person. The flat was really nice , very tidy and well maintained and with some of the photographs of Malene's family around it still felt like a home. It was the perfect location. Great balcony to sit and watch the world go by. Malene was kind enough to provide myself and my son Ruari with a couple of bicycles to have the use of while we were in Copenhagen. I used the big black bike to cycle around and it was great. Thanks for that. I was just about developing a sense of direction in the last couple of days.
There are lots of interesting local things within easy walking distance of the flat. I had a nice chat with the woman who runs the little second hand shop along a bit from the flat. I bought a pair of hand knitted, Ugandan wool, organically died socks (which were new). There's a nice cafe directly under the flat. It's a pity Copenhagen is so expensive other wise it would be a great place to visit regularly. The flat couldn't have been any better and it added to what was a great break.
As stated in previous reviews, the location is excellent and within walking distance of most places visited. It is also easy to access mass transit. The neighborhood is great and the view of the canal was fun. Malene was helpful at check-in and left a lot of information We were sadly disappointed in the unit itself; it didn't live up the the pictures in the listing. It needed a much more thorough cleaning, especially the kitchen and bathroom. The leather living room furniture was very worn. The bed in the master bedroom was uncomfortable (it felt like only box springs) with threadbare sheets and could use a memory foam topper. It would also help to have room darkening curtains in there. Even though there is an elevator, you will have to climb stairs to get to it. We have used VRBO many times, and this unit doesn't live up to the standards we have experienced in the past.
This apartment is located within walking distance to the metro, many stores and restaurants, and right in front of the canal. Malene, the owner, has thought of every detail; from kitchen utensils to temporary toiletries, the apartment is stocked.
Copenhagen Airport is 15 minutes away by metro, and it is easy to access the city center on foot. There is a neighborhood map drawn by the owner, recommending reasonably priced restaurants, stores with the best service, and a coffee bar or bakery.
Without a doubt, it is safe to walk around this neighborhood night or day. In addition, the apartment entry is located inside a locked area and it is on the third floor.
Matching the photos and description, clean and well-maintained, and enriched by great service from Malene, I would highly recommend this location for your stay!
If we get the chance to return to Copenhagen, we would definitely stay here again!
