Overview

About the property

2BR directly across from Cove Park. Low key, (16-unit) non-touristy building

Kihei Park Shore Unit #1 | Maui Guidebook

Summary:

A fantastic value, in a small, low-key non-touristy complex. A nice surprise in this price range is the proximity to the ocean and the views. The quality in the recently remodeled units is also a big step above comparably priced units in South Maui.

Description:

The Park Shore complex is low-key and designed for residential occupants; all units are still resident owned (and many are resident occupied.)

Unit 1 is on the ground floor, has been remodeled with quality touches such as new bathrooms, travertine floors, granite countertops, and loads of good taste in furnishings. Ocean views, steps to the private pool, and a reserved parking space adjacent to the unit.

Location

The location of the Park Shore is central, with loads of restaurants, bars, a couple of markets, entertainment, shopping, beaches, skating, surfing and snorkeling all in close proximity.

Cove Park along with its surf school are right across the street. A short walk from Kamaole Beach Park in one direction and Kalama Park in the other, a lot of activities are steps form your door. Kalama Park has a skatepark and a free outdoor roller rink right next to the ocean ($5 skate rental.) Kalama Park also has a playground, tennis courts, BBQ grills, volleyball and more.

Cove Park across the street is the de-facto place to learn to surf in Kihei. The most regular small surf break in South Maui means there are surf-schools here virtually every day of the year. Next door they rent surfboards, kayaks and paddle boards. Charley Young Beach is a 5 minute walk. Kamaole One, Two and Three within several blocks of each other. Dozens of the worlds best beaches in Kihei, Wailea and Makena are nearby.

The Kamaoles are the most popular beaches in Kihei for a reason. The closest is the Charlie Young Beach side of Kam I – one of the prettiest spots on all three Kamaoles. You can walk along the shoreline all the way down to Kamaole II & III. All three of these beaches have lifeguards, and are great for swimming, boogie boarding, or just doing nothing but lazing on the soft sand all day!

Five world-class golf courses within minutes to choose from.

Kihei Park Shore Complex

The 16-unit building was constructed as a residential apartment building, and many units are still resident occupied. Each unit is unique & privately owned and the entire complex is non-smoking. Several units are in vacation rental, and as of 2015 inspections and reviews of all units in vacation rental, #1 & #3 stand out clearly as the best.

Quaint and quiet

  • 4 of 5

This little place is close to restaurants, grocery and beaches. Loved the walks in morning and watching the surfing classes across the street. Nice to have pool, but it is unheated and pretty cold. Bedding could be updated, a little pilly and worn. Very well stocked kitchen and large fridge. I have saved this unit for future visits, fun place to stay!

Gem of a place

  • 5 of 5

Spent our last three nights in Maui in this place and it was clean, central, well stocked, and we loved the level entry walk out to the pool. Plus, having the beach right across the street was another great feature! Was just a few minutes walk to bars and restaurants also so we saved on cabs for sure. Highly recommended and we'll be back for sure :)

Right across the ocean...

  • 4 of 5

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Kihei Park Shore. The unit is conveniently located across one of our favorite beaches making it easy to jump in the water for some surf in the morning, and back to the unit to barbecue for lunch. We especially loved the easy access to the pool from the lanai area. We have 3 young children...so having the pool just footsteps away was a joy and blessing for all of us!

Great condo with a central location.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here. The condo was perfect for the two of us. It was clean, updated, and well-stocked. The condo complex was small and quiet. The location was great--close to my conference and also central to shopping and dining and beaches. It was also easy to access the rest of the island for sightseeing. We would stay here again.
