Cute Cape Cod style cottage with two bedrooms and one bath in Parkwood Beach, Wareham. Cottage features central A/C, hardwood floors, washer and dryer, WIFI, cable TV, fenced in yard, private beach, enclosed front porch, fire pit and outdoor gas grill. The cottage has vaulted ceilings and open floor plan with front to back living/dining/kitchen area. The first bedroom has a full (not queen) bed and second bedroom has one set of bunk beds.
Parkwood offers two community beaches, both within a 3 minute walk from the cottage. The marsh side of the beach is full of wildlife and great fun for crabbing and exploring.
There’s a community playground just steps from the cottage to keep little ones entertained, and don’t forget your bicycles! Parkwood an ideal neighborhood for riding.
Spent all my summers as a kid on Cape Cod crabbing, fishing, riding my bike and hanging on the beaches. I now live in Southeastern Massachusetts with my wife and two kids - just 30 mins away.
Douglas Leet purchased this cottage in 2010
Parkwood Beach is a great location that gives you everything you get on Cape Cod without the traffic. My wife and I looked for many years before deciding on Wareham and Parkwood Beach. It's a great spot for a family vacation - bring your bikes and enjoy all it has to offer.
I completely remodeled in 2013 making sure we kept all the unique characteristics of the original Cape Cod style Cottage. Pine tongue and grove ceiling, butcher block countertops and a New England style fireplace. We even kept the old cast iron tub and titled around it. A true Cape Cod classic cottage, I hope you enjoy.
This cottage is near Wareham and is in a very nice beach community. It is very close to town and is a convenient location to visit cape cod and the surrounding cities, and if you don't mind a bit more of a drive, it is not that far away from Providence, Newport and the Boston area. This trip we went to Lexington a few days of our trip.
Working with Doug was great and he communicated everything well before and throughout our stay.
The house itself was just the right size for my son and I on this vacation. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals and we had a choice of eating at the counter or the small table. When the weather was good we could open the house and get a great cross breeze and enjoy the sea air without having to go out. If the weather was hot (which it was a few days) the A/C worked perfectly to keep us cool and relaxed.
If you like to walk the neighborhood was a great place to walk around and was right on the bay. There is a small beach also just a few blocks away.
The bedrooms are small, but perfect for a vacation, especially for a couple or a family with say a couple children.
And finally you don't leave your creature comforts at home as their is access to the internet and a washer and dryer which we used quite a bit during our stay.
All in all we had a great week and I'm very happy that we found this little place.
Many thanks to Doug and his family for maintaining and sharing this wonderful cottage.
The house itself is wonderful. Just as the pictures show the cottage is clean and well appointed.
This cottage was ideal for our Cape Cod Baseball Vacation. My son played for Wareham Gatemen and was 5 minutes from the field. The cottage was in a quaint water community. Doug was a pleasure to work with, and we had all the amenities we needed. The cottage is so cute and he thought of everything we would need. We would definitely recommend Doug and his cottage. There is a great cafe on Main Street, called the Riverside Cafe that took great care of our ball players and us. The affordability of this cottage allowed us some room in the budget for exploring and some water adventures. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever in this vicinity again!
We loved our 4 day stay in Parkwood Beach. The house is a beautiful little cottage with a double and a bunk room, with more than enough room in the child's room for a infant's travel cot. There were even toys, which our children found very quickly and enjoyed. The house has all the amenities we needed and everything was exactly as described. Everything was clean and warm - the house had been prepared for our arrival.
The location was great, with a local private beach and within a short drive of Wareham. We found a Stop and Shop nearby for food. The house is within an easy drive of Plymouth and the Cape Cod area, and about 20 minutes from Edaville USA theme park (home of the newly opened ThomasLand) which the kids loved. We also loved Onset beach, which is 5 minutes away.
Doug was very friendly and helpful in accepting our last minute booking, including going beyond the call of duty to confirm our booking for us.
Although our stay was short, it was very memorable and was exactly what we had been hoping for.
We stayed in this cottage for 4 weeks; what a great location. Very close to the bay with a private sand beach and a short drive to the Cape Cod area. Boston is easily reachable via train. The cottage had ample room and included a central air conditioning unit for warm days/nights. There was a screened in front porch for enjoying the outdoors fully protected. Grocery stores, Walmart, and Target were close; however, if you are a COSTCO member, its a 45 minute drive. Our only negative; there was no closet for hanging clothes.
