Guestbook comments from the manager

The house is situated in a great location from town and wineries, and it is a beautiful location along the river. The outdoor seating both covered and uncovered was amazing. There are 2 area fire pits with plenty of fire wood on site and 2 full kitchens. The large acreage really makes the experience really private even though you aren't far from a lot. The paved drive way is really a great feature for this area, as most of the other cabins we went to were dirt and grave and required 4 wheel drive due to the rain. It was clean and comfortable. Thank you so much!

Perfect location, beautiful setting.

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was set perfectly next to the river. The house is set up into 2 separate houses, one upstairs one down, each with their own kitchen, bathroom, and 2 bedrooms. The setting is so peaceful and serene and is perfect for families or even a party. The highlight is the amount of covered deck space and seating outside. There was enough room for 25 people to sit, chat, play cards, and talk comfortably. Will stay again

Absolutely loved it!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four went with a family of five. We had plenty of space and privacy. The five children we took with us did not pick up their electronics or watch TV at all. They played in the creek, climbed over the log bridge, walked up the creek to find the waterfall, and played ball in the yard. We built a fire, roasted marshmallows, and fished. It was a true vacation that I know we will never forget.

Great for family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time! You could have an amazing vacation without ever leaving the cabin. Just be mentally prepared that the driveway is VERY steep! Also no cell service but there is a landline and dependable wifi which allowed us to make phone calls via Facebook messenger. The upstairs and downstairs have separate kitchens and only connect by the outside porch staircase which worked out perfectly for us as we were a group of friends traveling together so we were able to separate all the kids when it was time to settle down and go to bed. Beautiful creek running alongside property, fire pit, plenty of firewood, grill, coolers, fishing pole, rafts, hot dog/marshmallow roasting sticks...everything you could possibly need is provided. Realtor was very helpful and responsive!

Great long weekend!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a blast staying at the cabin. We started out with 8 going but ended with just 4 of us. We all stayed upstairs. (It was more up to date. Plus we were too chicken to stay downstairs with all the scary stories the kids told us. Lol) We loved getting up in the morning and drinking coffee out on the porch while waiting on the kids to get up. We went tubing, gem finding. We went to Helen and went through all the stores, we even went to Dukes Creek Falls. (Didn't know I was that out of shape.) We are already talking about going back. I only thing I didn't like was the steep driveway. I hate the feeling of falling. Thank god I had someone to drive me out or I would still be there.

Great cabin!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved the cabin and the adjacent river!! The teen boys loved having their separate quarters upstairs, but next time the adults will be up there. (More modern kitchen upstairs and bigger bathroom, but both levels are nicely decorated and served our needs well) The dual porches overlooking the stream are great to relax, read a book, drink a beer, whatever suits you. The drive to Helen is not too far, maybe 15-20 minutes. A very nice Ingles supermarket is relatively close by in Cleveland. I would recommend this cabin to families with older kids or two families staying together. It is important to note that the lower and upper levels are accessed only from the outside, no inside stairs like a normal two story younger kids may be afraid to sleep on a different floor than the adults. Try Glenda's in Cleveland for breakfast, avoid the Troll Tavern in Helen. Nacoochee village tavern and pizzeria has good woodfire pizza and subs.

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

Wine Down the River is a perfect place to get away! The space was perfect for our large extended family. The house was clean, welcoming, very nice, and very comfortable. We had everything we needed to cook meals at the cabin, including a grill. The porches are wonderful, with plenty of seating, tables, and even a porch swing. We enjoyed playing in the water and even did a bit of fishing. We enjoyed the fire pit and making smores too. An added bonus was a wonderful thunderstorm and rain falling on the tin roof one evening. Ah, so relaxing. There is really no reason to leave to go anywhere else, but getting to Helen and surrounding activities is just a short drive. We really enjoyed our time at the cabin and hope to visit again in the future.
