The Sam Hughes neighborhood borders the university, is near downtown, Reid Park Zoo, Randolph Park Recreational facilities, and is within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. The home is part of a historic neighborhood developed in the mid 20th century. Even a short walk will reveal a variety of architectural styles that reflect the varied influences on the Southwest. It is among the premiere neighborhoods in central Tucson. The home has beautiful desert landscaping, an enclosed back yard with a covered patio, and an equally lovely front yard. The rooms are spacious and it has a charming mid-century kitchen with updated appliances. The three bedrooms feature king, queen, and twin beds. The largest bedroom includes an office/study area. You won't want to miss the opportunity to shower in the contemporary glass master bath.

About Steve or Leora Knutson
We are long time residents of the mountains of Arizona and have raised our two sons here. They grew up enjoying the outdoors, the variety of Arizona's climates, and the year-round recreational opportunities the various climates offer. We are looking forward to retiring, spending summers in the cool mountains, and the winters in the warm desert.
Steve or Leora Knutson purchased this House in 2015
Why Steve or Leora Knutson chose Sam Hughes
This home, in the middle of the historic Sam Hughes neighborhood, is a beautiful place to locate and convenient to all the amenities of a vibrant city's best features. The home itself has the features that one would expect to be part of this fascinating neighborhood and region, a lovely appearance, a comfortable interior, and a unique southwestern flavor.
What makes this House unique
This location is convenient to many of the city's features including being within waking distance of many neighborhood amenities and specifically to the University of Arizona.
Pool / Spa
The experience we had at this property was outstanding; from the initial contact with the property owner to the time we grudgingly departed. The house was clean, comfortable and had all of the amenities we needed (towels, bedding, cleaning supplies, dishes, outdoor BBQ with full propane tank, etc...). It's located in a clean, quiet neighborhood close to U of A and downtown. The house also has a few unique characteristics which make it memorable, including the almost outdoor shower and a seemingly never-ending supply of lemons. I wish I would have known about this place 4 years ago when my daughter started at U of A because I would have tried to stay here every time I visited.
Comfortable house in a great location
We stayed for 2 months and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful garden. Great location on a quiet street.
Great experience, centrally located with all the conveniences of home.
Wonderful home that has everything you need to be comfortable. Unique and cool master bath and shower. Owners are great to deal with- super easy booking and interaction. Highly recommended.
House worked well for our visit. Really enjoyed the lemon tree. Water pressure seemed low. Hot water took a long time to get started.
Terrific location in the older part of town. Services within easy walking distance.
Everything was as described. Very comfortable for our small family get together. We like Tucson and would certainly stay in this home again.
This property was exactly as we hoped. Our immediate family of seven (grown kids and still at home kids) all met in Tucson to spend time with our extended Tucson family. We had some wonderful family time, AND we had plenty of room to host our extended Tucson family a few times during the holidays. We loved the true Tucson feel of the home and the Sam Hughes neighborhood. The beautiful landscaping, as well as all the modern conveniences along with a few vintage touches made this a very special place. Our kids enjoyed early morning runs through the quiet neighborhood, and we were in close proximity to everything we wanted to do. Highly recommend!
This is what we want our guests to experience. Thanks for taking the time to share.
The house in a neighborhood adjacent to the University of Arizona and the end of the campus where the athletic facilities are found, so it is near the football and basketball stadiums. It is also a few short blocks to Randolph Park where U of A baseball games are played. Randolph Park also has public golf and tennis, a recreation center, and a zoo. Our home is near the downtown area of Tucson and the Tucson Convention Center, with access via the trolley or by the city bus which stops 2 blocks from the house. Broadway Avenue is two blocks from the house with restaurants, shops, urgent care clinic, and virtually all city amenities.
