Have you been dreaming of a romantic getaway in Carmel? This sophisticated Carmel retreat in the hills of Jack’s Peak is perfect for couples looking to enjoy a golf weekend, special celebration or just a relaxing get away.

This newly renovated guesthouse on a five-acre estate has a clean chic European inspired design. While very secluded and restful, this guesthouse is located only five minutes’ drive from Highway 1 (exit Pebble Beach). The beach, restaurants and shopping in Carmel, the world renowned Monterey Aquarium along with the golf courses of Pebble Beach can be reached within 10 minutes.

Nestled in the forest, the guesthouse is entered via French doors from a spacious deck overlooking a meadow. The deck is perfect for reading while enjoying a morning coffee, or just lounging in the sun. The main room contains a large sitting area with sofa and lounge chair. A few stairs up from the sitting area is the bedroom area that contains a luxury queen sized bed with a view. It also has a spa style bathroom with elegant Carmel stones and a very spacious shower separated from the toilet.

The house is equipped with a mini bar style fridge with refreshments, Nespresso coffee machine, Toaster Oven, Two full plate settings, TV, DVD player and WiFi.

Nice setting, well decorated

  • 5 of 5

The photos for this property do not do it justice. It's very tastefully decorated and renovated in a clean, modern fashion. The property itself is nice and quiet. The location is great, too, as it's a quick drive to Monterey and Carmel-by-the-sea. The host was quick to respond and very easy to work with, too.

Highly recommended!

Spectacular and romantic sanctuary!

  • 5 of 5

We had a beautiful and peaceful stay at your lovely guesthouse in the woods. The place is a great size for two or even 4. It's clean, beautifully decorated and like a luxury hotel room. Safe and very private. Just a short drive to Carmel or Monterey. We are very happy to recommend and would love to return.

Fantastic Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful experience staying a couple of nights here. The location was great; off the beaten path a bit and with beautiful surroundings, but still close to all of the action. It was no more than a 10-15 minute drive to Downtown Monterey, the Wharf, the Aquarium, all that good stuff. The guesthouse itself was perfect for two people. Everything was very clean and the place was thoughtfully decorated. Good sense of privacy; the main house on the property is a little ways away, and I couldn't tell you if anyone was even there while we were. Semi was great about providing the necessary information quickly. Overall it was an incredibly comfortable place to stay, and it felt like a home away from home almost immediately. Would definitely stay here again!

Immaculate Guest House - Feels Totally Isolated

  • 5 of 5

Basics: beautiful little cottage/guest house with everything you need for a getaway.

Stuff details: French press + coffee pod thing and perfectly clean toaster oven are there. If you want to watch something off of an iPad or device you bring, you can plug into the quality flatscreen via the HDMI port that's presently hooked into the cable box. WiFi was good enough for streaming. You'll want to dine out mostly, but the toaster oven provides a heating-stuff-up option so you can have a night in if you want, and there's a couple of place settings too. The little house is expertly laid out featuring visually separated seating, sleeping and bathroom areas. It is beautifully and simply decorated, and was immaculate when we arrived.

If you're looking to feel like you're in a beautiful place all by yourselves, this is perfect.

The little guest house is well-separated from the main house both in distance and in "feel." In fact, it's so isolated that there are no blinds or curtains on a big sliding door/window looking out over a wooded valley -- which is down a few steps from the bedroom part of the place. If somebody walked onto the porch, they'd see you sleeping. But that's okay, because it's behind an electronic gate (along with the main house) and we assumed, accurately, that the lack of blinds was a pretty solid signal that you're going to be left alone. We were. I actually have no idea who the owners are. I expect you will be totally left alone too, based on the layout. I'm not sure if the main house was even occupied when we were there. I think it was not, but I also got the impression that you would not know if the owners were there. This is set up to totally feel like it is your place while you're visiting.

For the same price as a peak-season hotel room in Monterey, you get a private guest house that you will love. Perfect for a romantic getaway to the Carmel area.

Owner's Response: We are really glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at our guesthouse. Yes, we were in the main house, but we actually seldom see our guests because it's a 5 acres property. All other windows have blinds in the guest house, but we decided to keep the main entrance without one to not to block the beautiful view. We hope to meet you next time you visit! Thanks!!

Nice vacation home

  • 4 of 5

Lovely home set in five acres of woodland. Ideal for relaxation and close to caramel town and monterey. This property is ideal for a couple wanting a weekend break. We stayed for 9 nights but could have done with somewhere that had a bit more room with cooking. Facilates. But overall pleasent

Amazing location and experience!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay in this amazing guesthouse! It was very private, exceptionally clean, nicely decorated, and nestled in a gorgeous location. Everything from the quiet evenings we spent on the deck sipping wine and looking out onto the serene, wooded property to the wonderful-smelling, luxurious shower exfoliating scrub and shampoo/conditioner to the extremely close, easy driving proximity to all of Monterey and Carmel's attractions made our stay one to always remember. We even got to watch a deer and her two fawns nibble on the property's greenery. I definitely plan to stay at this rental again and highly recommend it to any couple looking for an amazing weekend getaway. Absolutely fabulous vacation because of this place!! :)
