WORST STAY

  • 1 of 5

We have used HomeAway 2xs now for our girls trip. This was the worst house that we have rented for our trip. There were other reviews from other guess that I read before booking the house, that I did address with management company said. So if you don't read them, please start. The house was just as the photos show it as, not problems there. When entering the house for he 1st and every time coming back to the house, it had an odor to it like pets of some kind. Management stated they don't allow pets, but no matter what we did the odor was still there. Bed sheets had blood stains and other stains on them. Per the email we got that we could not check-in until 4pm, that house cleaning was there.... no sign of them had been in the house within the week of us coming - if not longer. Kitchen was dirty as hell, glasses dirty, food on the floor from prior guess, bathrooms were on the dark side and not enough light coming, 2nd bath in the master -shower wall were not clean and no vent (open the molded window that's in the bathroom), water doesn't stay warm long... some of us had to take very cold baths, fridge was very nasty - you can see that was not cleaned as well, they charge you to use the washer and dryer we never saw - plus its being used by other people in the units as well... never had to pay for washer & dry with any of our other turnkey properties. I would not refer this NON-TURNKEY property to rented by any one. The best thing it did have was the location to the beach, your about a 2-blocks from the beach.

Our Favorite Family Beach House

  • 5 of 5

Family of 5 stayed her and we loved it. Staff was friendly, amenities provided including hotel style shampoo. Close to beach, chairs and beach toys available. We love it here! We will be back!

Great House. Great Location. Unwelcoming Neighbors.

  • 4 of 5

The house was comfortable and warm. The garage parking was large enough for both of our cars. The kitchen was well-stocked. Loved the plastic wine glasses! Just a couple of minor house issues - the shower in one of the bathrooms was slow to drain. By the time my shower was over I was ankle-deep in water. One of the bedrooms had sheets with huge holes in it. Neither are a big deal, but the people cleaning the house had to know about both issues and did nothing to correct them.

I would've given this 5-stars but one thing kind of soured our stay. That was a neighbor. We pulled up to the house and hadn't even unpacked one bag when a woman came out onto her patio to tell me her daughter's bedroom was right across from our patio, and she would appreciate if we would keep noise to a minimum after 10pm. Really? I literally stepped out of the car and was discussing the lockbox code with my husband and she was barking demands at us. We never used the patio because it was raining, so it wasn't an issue but being greeted in that way started the weekend off with a tiny bit of animosity. I have rented many houses for ski and summer weekends. Generally, neighbors understand they live near weekend rentals and there is a mutual understanding when it comes to noise, I don't need a neighbor putting me in my place. We pay good money for these homes, having someone demand that I respect her child's sleep schedule is ridiculous. We spent the entire weekend saying "Keep it Down so we don't wake the kid across the street!" We might as well have stayed in a hotel with understandable noise limitations. If you're a rowdy bunch, do NOT book Unit A.
