Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
My brothers and I treated our father to a long weekend at pacific city. This was the perfect house. The huge windows overlooking the ocean and open kitchen was exactly what we wanted. It was super clean-it even smelled new! We enjoyed late nights of playing pool/billiards on the table up stairs. Simply amazing!!
This place is simply gorgeous. The 3 levels of breathtaking views are serene and relaxing. The house if fully stocked with everything you might need, and it truly feels like home the minute you walk into it. I have no complaints at all. My parents, who stayed with me, couldn't stop talking about how much they absolutely loved the home.
This home is very comfortable, clean and up to date. Just a few minutes from the beach, we loved the open floor plan it made mingling with our friends and family easy. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a coast rental!
Good: House is beautiful, beautiful floors and kitchen, nice master bathroom and furniture. Feels new. Close to downtown - you can walk to the beach or to various shops.
Medium: No ocean view (unless you go upstairs and there is no haze, then you can see a thin strip of ocean above the dunes). You look down on semi-industrial land, and the sounds of machinery and clanking start early in the morning. There is also an airstrip, which is cool at first, but the coming and going of the airplanes can be quite disruptive.
Bad: (As of Aug 31, 2016) No AC (broken and it gets hot in the house if it's at all hot outside). Lower fireplace doesn't work. No hairdryer. Expect limited kitchen supplies, and what there is to be scratched (the frypans are all scratched up) or dirty (I guess no effort is expended checking if the previous residents actually cleaned anything, so you end up cleaning things that have been put away with a crust of dirt on them). All of the linens have been washed with very smelly fabric softener. If you don't use this yourself you may find yourself rewashing everything to try to get the very strong smell out of the house.
Called Vacasa several times - got an immediate response from the main office, but absolutely nothing from the local property manager. When the repair guy came around because of the fireplace he seemed confused and had not heard about our other complaints about the AC and hair dryer. I have had this problem with Vacasa before - I think their property managers are stretched really thin.
We gathered here for a weekend to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. This was a perfect house for keeping ourselves entertained. We appreciated the nice cable package on both TVs (the Olympics were on!), the pool table, and the proximity to the beach. I also very much appreciated all the extra towels and how clean the house was. Thank you for allowing us to stay here!
I searched for days online to rent a home for our family vacation to the Oregon Coast and I picked the perfect one, The Shore Thing. It was as good as in the pictures and super clean. My family loves it and I got kudos the entire trip for the great house! With 23 and 20 year old sons getting kudos is a big plus and hard to do. They loved having their own space on the 3rd floor with the pool table, amazing ocean view and their own rooms. The fridge and big screen tv got points too! We will be back next year, having your own house when visiting family in the area made it feel like a true vacation.
